This isn't lighting related. But when we were stuck outside the store with a flat tire Tony came out to help us. We needed an allen key, Tony quickly found us one and said we could keep it. Thank you Tony for the kindness and help when we really needed it. 5 star customer service ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I just acquired a new set of pendants for my home through the help of Justin at Mclaren Lighting and I couldn't be happier with the final product and the service I received. Justin's input, knowledge, and experience were invaluable and resulted in some beautiful lighting that has really improved the overall look of my home. I couldn't believe the selection available and, thankfully, Justin was very skilled at listening to my needs and narrowing things down, something that I could have never achieved online or without his help. I have made several purchases from Mclaren Lighting including a ceiling fan/light and a magnifying lamp. Every experience I have had with the Nanaimo store has been awesome. The staff is great and I have not known another company to stand behind what it sells as does Mclaren Lighting.

Mclaren has great selection but even more importantly, has fantastic service. Dawn was a big help when I was choosing my new fan. Then when the fan had a problem after installation, they immediately addressed it. The manager/owner, Craig, stopped by himself to fix it. I'm very impressed!

One of the worst customer service experiences I’ve had. After going to approximately 6 other stores in Nanaimo looking for a specific light shade we came to McLaren Lighting. We walked around multiple times trying to find what we needed without any acknowledgement from staff, which would have been fine if not for the rude employee who did finally speak with us. Once we explained to him what we were looking for we were told with a scoff and a smirk, “we would NEVER carry something like that here. Maybe try a big box store.” Half the stuff in the store was also sold at the big box stores, yet he looked down at us for even asking for such a silly thing.

Rude and unhelpful staffDON'T SHOP HERE unless u want to be pressured, talked down to and dejected. they r constantly trying to pressure u into the 2000 dollar chandelier when all u want is the 200 dollar light. furthermoe they sneer and talk down to u like u kno nothing. 1 star but i would put negative 50 stars if i cud. wont be back.Mike

I have MR16 lighting in my home and one housing/transformer went bad. I checked all the big box stores and found nothing. I called Mclaren Lighting and spoke with Sean. Initially Sean told me he didn't have the housing nor stocked them. Sean went above and beyond and found out exactly where to get them from and offered to order one in. He sent me different styles to look at and educated me on cheaper alternatives which saved me big money. Sean is a go-to guy, thank you Sean!

Home Depot has a selection of lighting, but nothing compared to McLaren Lighting. If you have a need why go somewhere that you have to settle for something less than ideal. Staff were there eager to serve us the moment we walked in the door. We told him what we needed and he took us straight to bargain of the day with no attempt to upset us. We were in and out of the store in 15 min and without a word of a lie we saved over $100 from what it would have cost us at a box store. I give McLaren a firm 10 out of 10.
