Truly an amazing experience! We are a group of old friends who are always looking for a great dining experience - from atmosphere, to drinks, service, and of course food. Tangia far exceeded our expectations, and has now set the new bar very high for restaurants in Montreal. We did the discovery menu, and you can truly feel the passion and history in all the dishes. The waitress knew the menu and drinks perfectly. The owner was very friendly, and helped elevate the experience from just another great meal, to a journey that makes for great stories.Thank you to everyone at Tangia. I cannot wait to return.

I normally don't post reviews but I am so disturbed that I need to share my horrible experience. The food was good and so was the service but the manager is a racist pig. We went for diner at 6pm with our 21 months old and some friends who came with their 17 months old. Our friend's baby hit her head against the back of the seat and cried. The manager came over to tell my husband (who is French while the rest of the table is Asian) to shut up because the child was disturbing the service. He was more worried about the image of his restaurant than the wellbeing of my friends's child. I have never been treated like this and it definitely ruined our dinner. Fortunately our kids are not old enough to understand the value of racism and discrimination that this manager shares. In my reservation, I specified 4 adults and 2 kids, but if you are a parent, you are definitely not welcome with your kids. Please think carefully before booking a table.

Franchement. The prices are exorbitant and the portions insulting. Service was very slow. Had appetizer and a main dish, no drinks, no dessert, $60 per person including tip. I wanted so much to like this restaurant. But no. It's a new restaurant and I would hate to see it fail. Please either adjust portions or prices or both. The food is good.

Had a wonderful meal with friends on our special trip to Montreal! Appetizers and desserts and tea were amazing and service was impeccable. The main course in the prix fixe menu- was just ok- chicken was overcooked and no flavour.

I had a wonderful meal here last night. For a gastronomic restaurant in the middle of Montreal, the price is right. Anyone complaining about the size of the portions is a vulgar glutton. I loved the Morroccan-inspired negroni, as did my date. The food was delicious and presented with flair. Top marks for ambiance as well. I highly recommend.

Great food. Beautiful and cozy decor. Try the Discovery Menu for a real taste exploration. Wonderful fresh modern take on classic Moroccan food.

The food was great, no doubt. The staff was also very nice. But the experience as a whole had some low points:First, the menu online doesn't show any prices. So you have to google around to get any idea.Second, the menu is lacking a lot of informations. The shrimps come with a coucous risotto, but thats not written, you need to ask.The tangine (meat) comes with nothing, so if you want coucous with it, thats another 12$ if you specify a half plate of it. So even with the menu an price, you still get some somewhat bad suprises. When the waiter told me, i was pretty surprised since the tangine is already one of the most expensive food items on the menu.Another lack of information is that what they call salads are more like sauces or mashed vegetables to eat along with bread. (they are good tho)Overall the food is great, but at this price, i expect the rest of the experience to be more pleasant.

i dine in many places and by far this is my best place to go to. the food is beyond delicious. each meal is nicer than the other. i am talking world class food quality. the service is incredible. each visit has been absolutely pleasant. the owner always takes time to greet and welcome everyone. lets be honest how many places we go to where we get to meet the owners, yet alone to be served by them. i wish i could rate this place more than 5 stars as to me this its truly the best place in every aspect. if you are looking for a great atmosphere, best moroccan cuisine and world class service this is the place for you.

The evening started well, nice decor and the waitresses were friendly at first but then things turned sour: 1 hour after ordering, still no food. When the food came, the portion were either so small for the price (24$ for 4 shrimps on some pasta main course but looking like an appetizer portion) or way too salty (three tiny oversalted skewers came - inedible). We wanted bread but we were told it’s an extra 4$ /portion and an extra 8 minute wait (we had already waited 1 hour). A friend who had asked to substitute one of the sides to couscous was brought an additional dish and blamed by the waitress for ordering it, although she had not clarified the substitution would actually be an additional dish and therefore be charged as an extra. When we complained about the quality of the food, the wait and everything else, the senior staff gave us a condescendant speech about Moroccan food and how the meat was salted for 30 days and that’s the way it is (we were actually with a Moroccan who had never seen such small or salty portions in her life). They are definitely not open to feedback and at the cost of that tiny and over-salted meal, you can definitely get much better anywhere else in Montreal!

Give this one a miss. I ate here once and would not go back.Service:This was the biggest issue. Our server was downright argumentative, turning everything into a fight, instead of trying to actually make the experience enjoyable for us. She would also disappear for long stretches, despite us being the only customers in the restaurant. We had to ask several times for some items, and at one point, when we asked for some sort of spicy sauce, she basically said no
