We stayed here for one evening/day. The pool wasn't heated so it was a big chilly, lifeguards are present while everyone swims. The beach is just ok, lots of rocks so not suitable for children to play in. The sunset was beautiful thou. The cottages were small but perfect for a couple and children. The cottages are very close together too. Ours was clean and airy, we had to bring our own linens and towels, which was a pain. The overall experience is just good. They have an adults only pool and live entertainment. There is a restaurant onsite. The cottages are close to sandbanks, there is mini putt near by with pizza and margaritas!

Unit not clean, dirty linens and plates in the until, amenities like the washing machine and fridge in poor/non working condition, no onsite management during evening or weekends. The unit itself was large enough for small families, quiet, access to activities etc. But the state of the unit and lack of solutions to rectify was so poor.

First off it was so confusing as to who we were renting from was it Sandbanks Summer Village or East Lake Shores?Upon check in we were only provided with key and parking pass, and no other instructions. Cleanliness of cottage was extremely poor, We had dirty dishes in the dishwasher and dirty clothes / towels in the washing machine. Plates, silverware, glasses, and cookware in kitchen were dirty and we had to clean everything prior to using. Kitchen faucet was extremely loose to the point that it felt like it would pop right off. Air Conditioner unit was clogged with dirt. Ceiling fan in main bedroom stopped working the last night. Mattress in main bedroom was old and saggy. BBQ was dirty and rusty and no way to clean. Not sure what housekeeping did prior to check in but it did not seem like they did anything nor was anyone checking on their work.We had no heads up on the process to book the pool, had to line up like concert goers at 8am to get a 1 hour spot which was not guaranteed. One night we showed up at 7pm for our reserved time and pool was closed, no sign indicating why it was closed. Next day we were told that they were closing at 6pm because they had no staff, drove by at 7pm and pool was still open. All staff with exception to front office were teenagers, lifeguards did not pay attention to people in pool as they were too busy talking to friends or guests they knew. For price we paid expected a lot more attention to detail ad better service, will not be coming back.

We had a fun 3 night stay at this resort but I think it was our company who made it a great week. At first glance, our cottage was nice but we quickly learned that it was not well stocked (missing basic things like dish soap, cleaning supplies, cutting boards, other utensils), our bed was horrible (so loud and squeaky that anytime one of us moved in the night, it woke the other up) and the floors were quite dirty with no option to clean as the cottage only had a vacuum that wasn’t working well. I would also like to echo the comment below about the bbq being extremely dirty (ours was infested with earwigs) and no way to clean it.The communication from resort staff was poor. Multiple emails and phone calls went ignored leading up to our arrival. We got an email saying check-in was from 4-6pm but upon arrival they said the office closes at 5pm, as an example.I never saw an employee with a mask handy. The housekeeping staff were going into cottages without masks to “clean”. Surely the place cannot be disinfected properly when staff are breathing on surfaces as they wipe them.We used the park, pool, basketball courts and shuffle board areas. These were fun and in good condition. There is lots to do at the resort if you don’t have plans to leave. This resort has a lot of potential but for now I would say it is not worth the price they are charging, especially when requiring a 3 night minimum stay all season.

What a great resort! My family loves staying here. Lots of activities for the kids. The poos and beach are great. And it's only a few minutes drive from Sandbanks beach and Picton.

We stayed here for a week in the summer for a family getaway and we were blown away. The cottage we stayed at was the perfect mix of cozy and modern. The dishwasher and full sized washer and dryer were a much welcomed surprise as we were travelling with a toddler. Their huge playground and gated pool really makes their facilities stand out. My husband really enjoyed kayaking in the lake.

Don’t go there if you own an EV. Not a single L2 charging station installed of course, and the staff doesn’t want you to use any regular plug, even those at the reception (before the gates). And when you do plug overnight (no choice, every charging nearby is disconnected or out of order!), then the staff unplug your car! What’s funny is that one of the staff people seems to own a Prius which is plugged all day…It’s 2022, this place should have at least two to four L2 stations. Hope the new management will thoroughly think about it and be tolerant with EV owners in the meantime.Other than that, if you own an ICE vehicle, you’ll be fine and enjoy all amenities on site as we do.

We used to like this place a lot. We first went in 2019 and liked it so much that we came back and brought other families of friends with us in 2020. We came back for the 3rd time in August 2022 and were so disappointed!!First: when we arrived into pur cottage, floor was all dirty! Balls of hair, sand and cherios were all over the cottage and over the patio. Then we opened the closets and blankets were on all unfolded in a big pile on the floor… no need to tell we did not used those. Although we called, e-mailed, asked the front reception to have someone come cleaning, we were told someone would cone the next day 2 times but they never came.Second: there used to be a lot of a activities and animation for kids. With new management there is none. In fact there is movie night on Saturdays but it was cancelled because: DVD player was broken! There is DVD players in all cottages so let’s say that this was a lame excuse.Third: even though it is branded as a « luxury » resort with all amenities included (and priced accordingly), we actually could not use the water for the whole 8 days we were there AND the dishwasher was not working properly as every glass/plate we put in it came out dirtier. This was an experience closer to camping than to luxury cottage. In summary it is well located and it is a cool concept to be able rent cottages on the same resorts than our friends. However, the confort is average at best, the family/guest experience is well below what you would expect for this type of resort and I am sure that next time I visit Sandbanks I will be able to find a much better place to stay… too bad they changed administration :(.

Truly a 5 star cottaging experience. Cant say enough great things about this resort community. Fantastic amenities, super family friendly, and located in the the heart of PEC, minutes away from Sandbanks. Each cottage is privately owned and unique so take your time when booking to look through the listing to find the best fit for your trip. Nothing beats the sunset over East Lake. Cannot wait for it to open again this summer. Thank you to the staff at East Lake Shores!
