No parent should ever be made to feel like their child is, or will be an inconvenience to staff members because the child is not as verbal in their form of disability even though the child can clearly communicate his needs. . No child should EVER be labeled as potentially problematic by any staff member in any Abbotsford community organization, particularly with ZERO evidence of such behaviour during meeting or at any time otherwise. No child should be judged solely on their perceived deficiency (again with ZERO evidence) but on their contribution. My meeting with staff in this program was horrific!I can only hope that future training on how to manage their personal biases, on how to avoid aggressive labelling of special needs children, and on basic human empathy will be highlighted so that no other parent will EVER experience the indignation my son and I went through with staff in this program. I left crying and it takes a lot for me to cry! Truly horrific!
