I had Insurance with Intact and I had a House Fire on December 4/5 2012 and Now it's September 13th, 2018 and the claim is still unresolved. I found their Lawyer (ED Vanderkloet) to be Ignorant and a real bully and was very intimidating. He was very scornful of my PTSD and my Mental Illness and treated me like a second class citizen. In fact i had to ask him not to contact me anymore and asked to have any contact with me to be done through a third party. I am considering asking to have him removed from my case all together and not have any contact with me whatsoever. And given how he's treated me I will be filing a complaint with the Law Society. Very disappointed with my recent treatment from Intact Insurance. I am a 20 year costumer with Intact for all my insurance (home, auto, etc.) and in all that time we had only a couple small claims. Recently I was the victim of having my tires slashed (me and 22 others!) and Intact couldn't have cared less. I had to get my own rental which then expired because the cost was higher then the rate they could have gotten, my own tow truck, etc. They kept giving me email addresses that didn't work, only replied to my calls sporadically and they have no adjuster here in Labrador so more delays... Its now been a month since the vandalism and I still don't have my truck back! It's awful to be a victim of vandalism and even worse to have an insurance company that doesn't care. Currently looking for a new insurance company that actually cares about their customers!

Accident today on a Sunday. Called Intact toll free number and talked to an agent on two different occasions. Need to get vehicle towed and require a rent a car. Accident in a rural area. My residence two hour drive away. Apparently they only cover tow to 50 KM. This was not imparted to me on the first call. Tried to get a claim started online so I can i) have an adjustor call me sooner rather than later; ii) once I have a claim apparently I can get a rental vehicle (clause I have). Problem is the website has been down for hours now. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day and my preliminary search indicates the nearest Enterprise (Intact preferred rental) is closed. The only possibility would be the airport two hours away where I actually live. Fingers crossed that I make some headway tomorrow. Ironic that social media - Twitter in this case, did not have an update re: website down. Frustrating... . Two stars because there were actual people I was talking to and not 20 buttons to push.

Can honestly say this (ongoing) experience with Intact over a claim for damages to our home has been the worst customer service experience of my life. Damages occurred in November 2021 and we were told repairs would be completed “as soon as weather allows”. Now it is going on September and the only reason the house repairs were completed recently was because I threatened legal action. Our garage is still not repaired and we cannot get a straight answer on when it will be completed. The garage is fully insulated and wired and has been leaking since the winter but the agent essentially said that’s not his problem. Terrible communication. Impossible to get any information out of the agent without pestering. Disgusting treatment considering the premium on the home is over 2K….

My experience with intact was my adjuster never returned my phone calls unless she wanted to speak to me. I called 5 times and never heard back. I had to go to a supervisor and pull teeth. In the end they paid for the claim but it was frustrating to not be able to get through to my adjuster.

Had 3 claims with this company for things that were not my fault. In the end they dumped me as a client, did not excercise due diligence, and rarely returned phone calls. Now through no fault of my own I am being marked as high risk and being forced to seek another provider where I will pay double or triple what they were charging me. Worst experience with an insurance company. If your broker offers this company to you look elsewhere.

In short, worst experience ever. After sending the first email to me, which I replied in 10 minutes, the adjustor never replied back in 15 days and counting, calls was always not available, broker tried to contact, ignored as well. Tried call their call centers, not helpful at all, the worst thing is, the accident is 100% percent the other driver's fault, yet they suggest or trying to persuade me to use my own collision policy, everyone knows that will affect your rating and premium, yet that's still a suggested option. Few years ago, I experienced a not my fault accident as well, it was all settled in 3 days. Now I have to wait for that long time for a single response, what's wrong with this country? Just go and search for reviews, it's all below 2 stars, lots of horrible stories, help yourself, go and change to another underwriter if you still with Intact

This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Phone calls and emails ignored. Initial vehicle claim was taken care of but problems with the repair occurred and intact basically hung us out to dry. Months of trying to get someone to help us. And the folks at Johnsons Insurance( Intact) are of no help either.

The service I got from away was terrible.Mrs.Grace Jackson would go days without phoning.I would phone and leave messages and would wait for a call back.The first time she send my forms she sent to the wrong address.Second time she sent them wrong info.Third time she finally got it.She wasn't friendly or compassionate what so even considering my situation.I live in NL not away in NB where she's too.I had to deal with her for months.The broker here in St.John's NL I would gladly give 10 stars..Mr. Ross Greene was more helpful ,compassionate and understanding.It's a shame that all your reps can't be as pleasurable as Ross Greene
