Loving Leader Dog Training

My family grew our family by one very loving but crazy, silly and strong male labradoodle puppy back in 2020. We knew we needed help with managing his behaviour or we were going to have big troubles going forward. I also wanted to feel comfortable walking my big boy on my own too. We were given Amanda's contact information by a local friend and the rest is history! Amanda is just truly amazing at what she does. A real natural and the dogs just love her. So patient but firm-exactly what these dogs need. She has so many tricks and ideas ready to share with you too. Just game changing in every way. 3 years later I'm still following her strategies and enjoy daily walks with my dog. No stress just peaceful. Thank you so much. You are the best!

A friend recommended Amanda to me after I got my 4 month old rescue pup who was extremely fearful and shut down. Amanda patiently worked with my dog's fear (and my anxiety!) over the first year of my dog's life. Amanda would also bring her dog to help socialize and train my dog -- they quickly became best friends! The transformation in my dog has been remarkable. Amanda is a FANTASTIC dog trainer! We have had previous experience with trainers, but have made 0 progress with them. We adopted a 6 year old corgi from a puppy mill where she was abused and came to us completely shut down. This dog burrowed herself in the shoe closet and has spent the last 7 months not interacting with us at all, completely terrified of everyone and everything (rightfully so!). We had to physically carry her anytime she went anywhere including outside to use the bathroom. We have had 2 sessions with Amanda (not including the consultation) and our little girl is already making the most amazing progress we didn’t know was possible for her. She is walking on a leash, coming to her name being called, actually walking out the back door to use the bathroom and walking up and down stairs. She no longer hides from us, and comes to be part of the family. Amanda helped us pull out her confidence to be a dog again. We couldn’t be happier with Amanda’s expertise, and we have 4 more sessions to get our dog even further with progress! I have recommended her to so many people, she is the best!!

I contacted Amanda within a week of bringing home our new miniature schnauzer puppy Eddie. I was in over my head with his puppy behaviours (relentless nipping at me and my kid’s clothes, pulling, barking at anything he heard or saw). We wanted to start Eddie on a good track and develop positive habits from an early age. Amanda took the time to understand Eddie’s energetic and strong-willed personality, and our goals to have him fit right in with our family routines. Amanda’s sessions were efficient, productive, and targeted our priority issues. We spent a significant amount of time outdoors, working on Eddie’s reactivity and extreme excitement at the outside world, as well as his fears (of sewer grates, driveways, and bus stops). Amanda helped me develop the confidence to give him commands and be a leader. Eddie’s transformation has been incredible! We have strategies to handle the excitement of the outside world, and I now enjoy our walks together. Eddie even receives compliments on his behaviour! Amanda equipped us with the tools and confidence to integrate our new dog into our home. As a rescue, our dog has many quirks and anxieties that we had no idea how to handle. Amanda’s 1-on-1 training in our home made it so easy to evaluate our environment and integrate the training into our daily lives. Our pup has come such a long way. We contacted Amanda after seeing some concerning behaviours from our puppy, Rosie. Although Rosie is a very loving dog in most situations, she quickly became leash-reactive towards other dogs, squirrels, etc. Walks were quickly becoming very stressful for us. Rosie also feared things she didn’t know or understand, anything from kids to strangers approaching her. After MUCH consideration and the advice of Amanda, we did the board and train program for 3- weeks.Rosie has returned a more calm, confident, and obedient dog. She is walking past other dogs with no reactions (something I thought was impossible). She is listening when she’s stressed or fearful, rather than reacting. Amanda has gotten her to the point where we are now comfortable taking over her training. That means the world to us.We cant thank you enough, Amanda, for everything you’ve done to support US and Rosie. Amanda is a godsend! We have worked with other trainers in the past who are rigid in their methods and Amanda is quite the opposite - she works within the limits of your real life and tailor-makes a program designed just for you and your pups.My pups absolutely love her and so do we.

Amanda helped us immensely with our two Bernese Mountain Dogs who were quite wild when we first started with her. She immediately taught us fundamentals that brought a level of calm to the household and also meant I could actually walk them without stressing about the youngest pup reacting to other dogs. We are so grateful for the help we have received from Amanda! Lady, our rescue dog very quickly began showing problem behaviour when she moved in, threatening to bite, barking at everything, straining on her leash and generally being extremely difficult to the point that we were considering returning her. Luckily a friend recommended Amanda, and after our first session we knew we’d made the right choice. Amanda assessed Lady as being anxious not aggressive and taught us how to work with her.
