Excellent food.Service was most outstanding, our server this evening (Jan 28), Juliana, was absolutely fantastic. Attentive without hovering. Cheerful.The rest of the staff was excellent as well, any server going by the table would look, and ask if an empty dish or glass could be taken.

Came in last night. Got a table pretty quickly but sat for more than 15 minutes and no one came to the table. Pretty surprised with tonnes of staff running around someone wouldn't stop by at least greet the table, maybe get water. Left not knowing if someone would ever come.Will try again as we've had good food before just surprised at the service.

Pleasantly surprised. Best food I've had in Hamilton (admittedly I haven't been to many) I got the Royal Bangkok noodle bowl and the noodles and shrimp were cooked to perfection. Way better than the typical chain restaurant. Taste could be better (7/10), but the textures were definitely 10/10.Service was quick, though the restaurant was maybe half full at best on Easter Sunday. Compared to the run of the mill Moxies/ milestones/ Joey's. This ranks above them all and I'm looking forward to going to another location or seeing them expand.Compared to Toronto, expect above average food with below average prices, which makes it a winner in my book. Cocktails were $10, which is around half what you would see in downtown.

Went for Valentines Day and had their valentines menu. The food was fantastic! Every bite was wonderful, our server was lovely, and considering it was valentines Day, we didn't wait too long!

Visit regularly and I wouldn't be afraid to try anything on the menu (except the wings), which is saying a lot already about a chain franchise. The happy hour food and drink deals are great value. The parm crisps (homemade potato chips) are an excellent snack. The Mac n Cheese is creamy and tasty. The spinach dip is something to avoid as it's too runny and lacks cheese (smoothie/soup texture). The pretzels with beer cheese dip is better. Service is always great and there's a good vibe. That said, get a new chicken wing supplier. Yours are small, dry, and could benefit from some breading (2/10).

Not a bad place. I have been here twice. Fathers day last year and this year for a dinner with some friends. Both times service took a very long time. I understand last year as the pandemic made many companies short staffed and we were patient. This visit, we waited an hour to be served drinks. we ordered food which came within a decent amount of time and we had two servers after the first one just disappeared. My one friend got his food discounted as they completed forgot to even serve his order.Otherwise good food and atmosphere and decent place to go for casual drinks if you are not in a hurry

2023.06My friend and I have been here a couple of times for lunch and each time we went with appetizers. We have had bangbang shrimp, Brussels sprouts and calamari and all dishes tasted good. Considering the size of their appetizers, their prices seem to be higher than that at other similar restaurants. Very friendly servers and fast service.

First ever experience at State and Main, and I'll probably be back. It was extremely busy with holiday get togethers. Was put on a rough 20 minute wait list, but was seated within 15. Our server, Juliana, was super nice and friendly and kept us up to date with our order (again, they were super busy so there was a wait) pretzel bites app was delicious! Both my partner and I ordered steak dinner, only thing stopping from 5 star is my steak was rare vs medium rare (which is what I asked for) but it was still tasty.

Here is an honest review of my experience at State & Main this evening. Started by waiting at the door for about 5 minutes while multiple servers raced by us in panic which looked like a less than half full restaurant. We were sat and eventually greeted. We waited 40 minutes for a spinach dip that had cold pita bread.The wings came shortly after. These cold, tree bark, beef jerky wings absolutely sucked. I didn’t even feel comfortable paying for something I wouldn’t feed a dog. Server was nice but who cares when the food comes literally 40 minutes after ordering and cold. I would understand if the restaurant was full but it was not. I work in the industry and to have multiple servers walk by without greeting us or letting us know someone would be with us shortly was the first red flag.I drove 20 minutes because of these “good” reviews. Save your time and money. I promise you, you could get better wings from 7/11.
