The Dakota Tavern
Great venue for live music! The atmosphere is amazing, especially love the twinkle lights. Staff was lovely, the lady working the bar was very helpful. My only complaint is that alcohol was incredibly expensive, but Toronto is always more expensive. We will be returning :)

I had a not great experience here last night. I showed up with my girlfriend and when we sat at the bar , the older lady working behind the bar came over and asked if we wanted anything. I asked if they had a menu and she replied “ I only have a fridge and beer on the tap” with attitude. My girlfriend ordered a whiskey sour and it was the worst tasting whiskey sour I’ve had in my entire life. I didn’t like the beer I had either but that isn’t the bars fault. The man working at the front door was polite , and the establishment is very cool looking.

For some reason the one bartender really didn't like me. I asked for the cheapest tallboy, he said they were all the same price ($8.75), but seemed very offended by the question. The next time I grabbed a beer he charged me $9.50 (when he previously said it was $8.75). I asked if that price was correct he said yup.My next beer i went to the other bartender and she charged me $8.75 for the exact same beer. That guy really didn't like me.

Didn't even know this place existed until I stumbled on it one night and it was exactly what I was looking for in a small band venue downstairs bar atmosphere with some of the coolest staff you'll ever meet. The vibe is very friendly and the music is always enjoyable

Back to an old favourite with some old pals. Door person was a true class act! Give that guy a raise! It's hard to find good people.Once we walked down the old flight of stairs, nostalgia came rushing back.Sound was great, vibe on point, and smiles throughout the room. Still always a challenge to get to the bar to order, but with a bit of patience and kindness, you're there. Thanks for a great night!

Bluegrass Brunch at 10am was a fantastic experience. Young families with kids running around and dancing. Excellent food. Capable competent service. Wonderful bluegrass by Unseen Strangers. Great to see proper sound reinforcement early morning so your breakfast is not washed out by music. Absolute recommend.
