I recently had an office pod built in my backyard by Modeco Construction. Trevor and his team were amazing. They are professional, knowledgeable and super friendly. I researched a few companies who offered similar products before deciding on Modeco. They by far had the best offering of interior and exterior finishes and the entire process from start to finish was stress free. The pod itself is fantastic. It’s been a real game changer for my business having a dedicated space outside of the house. A huge thank you to Trevor and his entire team for such a positive experience!

Our house is one of the smaller houses on our street. While we love it and we use every square foot of it, we found that we were a bit cramped for at-home working space when COVID 19 hit. My wife was using the spare room, as she needs privacy during the workday, and I was using the dining room. It worked out well and I ultimately moved down into the basement to get away from the main floor traffic. The looming issue for us is that our kids are small and currently share a bedroom, so the spare bedroom will very soon be a dedicated bedroom for one of the kids.On a walk last spring we saw an office pod in the backyard of our home in the neighbourhood. A quick google search led us to Modeco Construction and we reached out to get a quote for an office space in our backyard. They quickly replied and informed us that they were fully booked but we could add our name to a waiting list. While we were initially disappointed, this forthrightness would later prove decisive in us choosing Modeco. We put our name on the list and moved on in our search. There are other companies out there doing backyard pods, but our frustration grew by the fact that they were either exorbitantly expensive or were poor in their management of our expectations by over promising and under delivering in the quote stage. We looked for roughly 4-5 months for a reasonable quote before we simply gave up… then we got an email from Modeco.Modeco sent a mail to their waiting list indicating that some space was freed up and was open to further inquiries. We replied immediately and met with Trevor the next evening. We outlined what we were looking for and he was both professional and accommodating. Not only did we have a quote within the next few days but they were able to start the following week. The experience was great! Probably their biggest strength was their ability to manage our expectations, and it was apparent from the beginning when we originally reached out; they told us they were fully booked and couldn’t take any additional work. Once we started working with them, they would be open and honest when things might take a bit of time and if things would be quick, they communicated that as well… full transparency.Trevor’s team were wonderful: they showed up when they said they would and worked efficiently and respectfully. It took roughly 6 weeks due to arranging other trades to come in, but they were only onsite for about 7-8 days. One thing we really appreciated was that the team cleaned up at the end of every day and we did not feel that our backyard was a construction site. The communication was easy and consistent. In short order we had a beautiful work office pod that now allows for my wife to work in privacy and comfort. The project was complete turnkey: a heat pump for both summer and winter comfort, full closed-cell spray foam and rigid board insulation on the outside for a thermal break so we can probably heat it with a candle and cool it with an ice cube. It is fully wired for internet with dedicated CAT6 network cable runs from the main house. They even colour matched the stucco to the main house for a consistent look. The pod is fantastic, and we couldn’t be happier. One aspect of dealing with Modeco that my wife particularly appreciated was that they did not treat her poorly because she was a woman. My wife has been ignored, mansplained, and even asked to leave her own house during other home projects and this experience was quite different. The team took the time to explain what they were doing, got both our feedback and input and communicated equally to both of us… They knew this project was for her and treated her like the paying customer she was.In short, if you are looking for an extension to your house that is comfortable, functional and aesthetically pleasing to the eye, look no further than Modeco where you’ll be treated to an honest hardworking team to bring your dream to fruition in a very cost and time efficient manner.Thanks Modeco!Smita and John

The Modeco team is amazing! It was such an incredible experience having them custom build our new recording studio! Trevor was always quick to handle any questions we had and went above and beyond on the build more than we could have ever expected, making recommendations we hadn't even considered. J. Roberts's attention to detail was extraordinary, troubleshooting the smallest of details to ensure our studio was completely soundproofed, spending the extra time to make sure we would be beyond satisfied. Liam paid extra attention to details, and was a tremendously hard worker. Brittany always kept us updated on the progress, keeping us informed on what we could expect completed each day. Every person that is a part of this team, besides being incredibly skilled at their craft, were genuinely enjoyable to be around, which was icing on the cake. During a time where the value of customer service seems to be on the decline, this made the whole experience that much more appreciated and a stand out quality of this team. For us, this has been a dream in the making for the past 5 years for us. We never imagined being in a place where we could make this dream happen - of finally having our own separate recording studio outside the house, but the Modeco team exceeded every expectation. They gave us the VIP experience and handled our dream with white glove treatment, giving it the care and thought that made us feel completely confident with any suggestions they made.
