Gala Fabrics

This little shop is packed with beautiful fabrics and the most knowledgeable and friendly staff. The fabrics are well organized, excellent quality and great price point. I look forward to another shopping spree when I return to Victoria.

The team is just as fabulous as their selection of textiles.They were all so kind and helpful after I made a trip from Vancouver.I look forward to doing business with them in the weeks and months ahead.

I have been to Gala fabrics quite a few times, and they are not just there selling fabric. Though I have bought fabric from them, things I could not get elsewhere like for bathing suits for example. Yesterday I couldn’t get a tailor in town to save my life, or to do a project for my daughter on a favourite dress, to fix it. So when I went over to Gala, I was in need of a miracle and Penny took the time to help me figure out how to fix the holes, choose the thread, give me tips on the interfacing and all the staff were friendly as usual. I love that this is a family run shop, and now there is even parking! Easy to get to downtown but not TOO downtown. After my experience yesterday I just had to write a review.

Penny and her team are incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. The shop has an awesome selection of fabrics, esp. wool and silk. Can't recommend highly enough!

I sensed today was a stressful day for the employees as there were many moving parts throughout the store. They got to me in a timely manner and maintained a very friendly attitude while helping me. This was my first experience buying fabric for a garment and they expressed interest in my project which helped boost my confidence. I really appreciate them and their attitude!

Had the most amazing customer experience today. Two extremely passionate workers helped me with my fabric needs and gave us very individualized help and were extremely caring and lovely! So wonderful! Thank you kind people!! It is clear that they were very passionate about sewing and fabric and extremely knowledgeable and attentive :-)

I was looking for something a little unusual (heavy elastic cord for goalie pad toe ties). Gala Fabrics didn't carry what I was after, but they were engaged and interested in helping me. They directed me to a nearby business which they thought might have what I was looking for. I was able to find exactly what I needed and it was all thanks to the help of the customer service from a store I didn't buy anything from. That's the kind of thing I enjoy about in person shopping.

Always a pleasure shopping here. The selection is amazing and the staff are all very knowledgeable. I came in trying to match clothing to make a pair of pants a matching vest, and despite how difficult that can be to do they still had multiple options. Highly recommend.

Congratulations to Gala Fabrics on the new location! I've loved shopping with Gala for 20 years: the fabrics are second-to-none, with the best selection of silk and fine linen on Vancouver Island. I was delighted to find that they're carrying a beautiful line of high-grade cotton from Japan now too, in traditional colours and patterns. Making hantens for my family, I used the left-overs to create a patchwork backpack. Though the cotton is lightweight, it carries a ton of groceries in that pack, and shows no signs of stress where the shoulder-strap meets the main fabric.The new location offers a free parking for customers" area
