A few months ago, I scheduled with Dr. Karen for my dog who has had ongoing orthpedic issues . Those issues have always impacted him to some extent but with a signficant knee arthritis and increasing age, it had become more of an issue. When I first saw, Dr. Karen, my dog's activity level had dropped off significantly, he seemed depressed and in discomfort. My goal was to gain an understanding of how to help him have the best quality of life for his remaining years. We have had several follow up appointments with Dr. Karen who has been amazing! She did an in depth initial assessment and set up a comprehensive treatment plan that included adjusting his medications, home program exercises and follow up in office rehab visits. She continues to provide comprehensive and ongoing assessment when we see her. Her home program is clearly demonstrated and explained, in addtion to her taking the extra time to send me a detailed written plan. The effectiveness of her program is best demonstrated by seeing the improvements in my dog. While he will always have issues, he is now more mobile, gaining strength and most importantly, clearly happier and more comfortable. In addition to having set up an effective and supportive treatment plan for my dog, Dr. Karen was understanding, kind and genuine with us in her approach. It touched me to see she was as happy about his progress as I was! I am now planning on going to her clinic for our other animals when needing care, even though it means more travel for us to do so. Highly recommend!Update: it is now quite a few months after I wrote this initial review.I have now taken my other dog to see Dr. Karen for his health issues which have required a surgery. I am so grateful for Dr Karen and her clinic of dedicated, professional and caring staff.

We have used Canmore Vet for many years — with multiple pets — but this is the first time we are writing a review.Our experience has consistently been amazing. If it wasn’t, we wouldn’t have been taking our Furry Family Members there for care for so many years.—We have always found all staff to be caring and compassionate.—They take the time to explain things so that we can better understand our pets, and provide the best lives for them.—We appreciate the post-visit call to check on unwell FurBabies.—We have boarded our cats there before. They returned to us well fed, well loved.We are currently spending our last days with our older cat. We are at peace with saying goodbye because we know she had a good life. And Canmore Vet was an important part of the Good Life she enjoyed.

When my dog ate a pyrex dish and was potentially dying, I was told to go somewhere else because they were closing in 10 minutes. The dog received emergency care in Calgary and survived:)In response to the clinics message below: It was not a smart choice, it was the only choice, we didn’t have a choice because we were turned away. The procedures that were done, could have been done locally as confirmed by the professionals in Calgary. I feel it is an extremely awful thing to have sent my pup to Calgary because it was an inconvenience to your staff for my dog to come in 10 minutes to close. I will never forget the conversation. I was told, “We like close in 10 minutes so can you hold? (5 minutes later) Yeah, are you there? So yeah, we are basically closing so like you will have to try another vet or Calgary.” I am shocked you would say that your staff did the right thing.

Everyone at this clinic are so amazing! Our Goldendoodle had an episode while we were camping in Kananaskis this summer and we had to rush her in to be examined. This clinic was very accommodating and so welcoming! We saw Dr. Sylvia who was amazing with our dog as was the vet tech! We are so grateful for the exceptional service we received during a very traumatic time! I can only wish our vet at home delivered the same service! Thank you again for everything you did for us!

A friend referred me to Canmore Veterinary Hospital and I am so grateful. The last veterinary clinic I attended in Canmore was pushy, expensive and I would leave feeling guilty and shamed that I didn't have an endless budget. At Canmore Veterinary Hospital they work through pricing with you so you are aware of all fees/costs. They give honest advice about what's essential and what is recommended. They are great with handling my cats and taking the time to discuss any concerns as well as educate me how to better care for them. Highly recommend.

Visiting from out of town. Our Doodle had a rough night. Phoned Canmore vet hospital and from the minute they picked up the phone, till it came time to submit a claim and pay, we were treated politely, professionally, with caring and with compassion. Dr. Cindy Hague saw our pup, diagnosed the issue quickly, outlined treatment possibilities, and helped us decide upon the best option. While it’s no fun having to take our pup to the vet, this experience was as positive as it could have been. Our thanks to the vet and staff at the hospital!!

I just moved here and my 13 year Chihuahua Roxy was sick and I had Dr Jen as my Veterinarian. She was amazing and very thorough with her diagnosis of my dog. She was kind, friendly and knowledgeable. I ended up having to put my girl down with Dr. Sylvia. She walked me through one of the saddest days for me. I'm very grateful that I went to this clinic as they were very kind and compassionate. Doctor Jen even called me a couple days later to give me her condolences.

I post this review with reluctance, but feel I need to share my experience, honestly, so those who have dogs that may have some form of anxiety or separation anxiety, won't experience what my husband and I did.My husband and I were in Canmore for the weekend and needed somewhere to board our 2 large dogs. (80lb and 110lb). After dropping the dogs off, I received a phone call shortly after, less than 2 hours, advising my one dog was low growling and didn't want to come back inside after playing in the yard. My one dog normally has some anxiety adjusting to a new place and people.** both dogs have been boarded multiple times for a variety of durations with NO issues.**I was asked to come to the kennel and make my one dog more comfortable with the surroundings. I arrived within 20 minutes. Once arriving, I was advised they were no longer accepting my one dog, for safety of the staff and my dog. I then had to make the decision of removing both of my dogs.I understand they felt like my one dog was in distress

Dr. Sylvia was very prompt to investigate my dog's condition in every possible way imaginable even though she had early on all the results and clinical symptoms she needed to cure him rapidly, effectively and and at a very low cost, she did not.I write this bad review today because Dr. Sylvia showed a complete lack of humility and compassion after I presented these facts (had to succesfully treat my dog elsewhere 1 month later) towards her ignorance of the erlichiosis disease.Thanks for nothingLaurence and Baboo
