Thong Chee N Dr

Had an appointment with Dr. Thong yesterday. When I went into his office, the first thing he asked me was my name. Didn't understand why I had two last names and wasn't accepting any of my answers. I'm not there to talk about why my parents gave me my names, I'm here for a medical reason. He continued to scold me for misusing medical terms and I explained to him I was just repeating what my family doctor told me. At the end of the exam, he told me you can go now". He was very dismissive. I WOULD NOT recommend Dr. Thong to anyone. It was the worst medical experience I've had in a while. He was not friendly and very impatient."

I should have read the reviews before putting myself through the phone call I just had with this man.Reading these reviews it’s like I wrote them all myself, rude, ignorant, dismissive the list goes on. I have waited months for this phone appointment only to be talked down to, scoffed at, laughed at and belittled when trying to explain symptoms and years of medical history. He constantly cut me off, asked me questions that I wasn’t allowed to give any explanation on, only a yes or no answer regardless of of those questions weren’t so black and white in answering. When I asked if he could let me finish a sentence he said that “a stiff neck causes irritability” as if being talked over and laughed at during an appointment with a doctor isn’t something that should irritate someone.I was in no way arguing with his diagnosis however, this has been an issue for years and after waiting this long to speak to someone I wanted to at least meet in person and have someone physically look in my ears etc. to make sure we understand what is happening.Dr Tong heard my occupation (electrician) and immediately made up his mind that my issue was a stiff neck and grinding teeth, any other symptom I tried to explain that didn’t fit into that criteria was dismissed and he even at one point told me I was “making up symptoms and using terms that don’t apply to my condition” the terms he’s referring to are “vertigo” and “BPPV” which are terms I have been told by other doctors in the past when presenting my symptoms/going to emergency when I couldn’t walk due to the intense dizziness I was experiencing.I would STRONGLY suggest going elsewhere/asking for a different doctor during your conversation for a referral as now I will have to wait another 6 months or so with no information or relief.Would give zero stars if I could.

Dr. Thong was extremely professional and straight forward with his recommendations. He brought clarity to the nasal, hearing issues I've been having for a long time and now I know what to do.

I had a phone appointment with Dr. Thong today. I had written & submitted a full summary of my symptoms and history to Dr. Thong's receptionist (incompetent, unprofessional, inefficient). Not only had he not read it, he would not let me summarize it for him. He interrupted me every time I tried to provide information. He didn't listen to anything I said to him. Based on the results of my CT scan, he had already made up his mind on a diagnosis without listening to any other information. Whenever I tried to speak he kept repeating I'm the doctor here!" I wasn't heard. I wasn't allowed to speak. I was dismissed. He repeated many times that he didn't have the time for "all of this information" and he actually hung up on me with no follow-up whatsoever. I had read similar experiences in the reviews but I was desperate for help so I decided to give him a chance and make up my own opinions on Dr. Thong. Please trust me when I say

If I can give NO star to Dr. Thong I would but I have to assign a minimum of 1 star for google to accept the review. In my entire life, I have never come across a doctor like this one. Not only is Dr. Thong unprofessional, he is also condescending, berating, belittling, impatient, arrogant, a bully, and he lacks all the social and emotional skill that are required to be a good doctor. He has absolutely no skills in dealing with his patients. Once upon a time, he may have been fairly good at being an ENT but as a good doctor, not only should one be good at his skills but should also possess the qualities and knowledge in how to deal and communicate with patients.My first encounter with Dr. Thong was a telephone consult when he didn't even have the patience to listen to me explain my symptoms; he continually cut me off during our consult, his tone of voice was condescending and belittling; before I even finished, he hung up on me! He never did call me back so you know it isn't a connection problem. He never called me back until 10 days later, the receptionist called and said I should go into see the doctor.As a patient I have every right to bring someone with me for the in person visit because I did not feel comfortable with Dr. Thong after the telephone consult and I wasn't going to be berated by him again. Therefore, I asked my mother to accompany me as a bystander. During the the visit, Dr. Thong started to bully my elderly mother and belittle her as to why she was there. We both explained to him of my discomfort level and how he hung up on me was extremely unprofessional. He blamed it on the phone company cutting out. If this is true, then why did he not call me back within 5 minutes and only 10 days later?!!When Dr. Thong pulled me out on my own to examine my ear, he put great force inside it and even a week after, my ear was still sore. When he had me alone during the examination, he again intimidated me by bullying me saying that how he could have made me uncomfortable during the telephone consult. He again came across with his tone of voice and his words were both very aggressive.I have since advised my family GP of Dr. Thong's unprofessionalism and patients should not be referred to him. There are many other ENT doctors out there who are very professional. I will be writing a formal complaint on Dr. Thong to the College of Physicians as the College needs to know this kind of unacceptable doctor behavior needs to be stopped.

Not Recommended At All!!!!!He might be a doctor on paper but his behaviour is way less than any uneducated person out there! After he checked my ears, wanted to explain something, he was cutting me off multiple times and at the end he told me you can go away!!!!! For the sake of God, why this country lacks enough doctors that people have to see these kind of doctors? (off course if we can call them doctors)I was in an emergency situation. To book the appointment ,I called dr office 2 times last week. When the clerk was giving me a time, she 2 times told me that she is doing me a favour for opening a time for me.Actually patients no need any favour. Doctor and office staff are getting paid for the service they are providing. If there's a favour, they need to do it to themselves by trying hard to learn how to behave with people!This place is full of rudeness and selfishness!!!!!!

** edit **Had an in person appointment with Dr Thong and he was much nicer than over the phone. He took the time to read my background files and was very kind. He IS strongly opinionated as to what options you should take going forward but it seemed like it came from a place of care.* old review *He kept asking me questions then interrupting and speaking over me before I could even finish half a sentence. In a 5 minute phone call he managed to insult both my referring doctor and my dentist.Rudeness aside, he did seem a tiny bit more thorough than other ENTs I've met before. Still doesn't really excuse the condescending tone and constant interrupting.

This doctor is very rude and cuts you off when you ask questions. He talked down to me and didn't listen. He hung up when I told him there is need to be rude. Never had a doctor with so little compassion.

avoid at all costs. completely unprofessional and extremely rude. my doctors told me they requested i come in 2 hours early for my appointment for a “procedure.” no one was there at opening and when the dr arrived to unlock the door he was extremely rude to me and told me to go away when i attempted to explain why i was there, as i apparently have a “phone appointment” for this procedure…absolute waste of time especially considering i’ve been waiting over 3 months for them to even respond to my referral let alone answer a phone call, and still, 10 minutes after my appointment time, no phone call!thanks for the waste of months of my time!

All these bad reviews are true. The receptionist is a horrible person too. She is very unhelpful and talks in a very condescending tone. I made my follow up phone call appointment last Wednesday and never received a phone call. I just called to ask what happened and she kept repeating that the doctor will call 3 times but I never received a phone call in the first place. She kept interrupting me and purposely hangs up too. Dr. Chee himself is not a good ENT doctor. How can you know what’s going with me if you don’t see me in person? I highly recommend you stay away from this place where the receptionist and ENT doctor are absolutely unprofessional and rude. This place is a complete joke.
