Oak Bay Cobbler

Not only is Dave an absolute gem, he is extremely knowledgable about his work and is willing to educate and inform on top of amazing craftsmanship. He fixed a pair of $400 hiking boots (that I had assumed were done-for over a year ago) in about thirty seconds flat in front of me. He was also able to answer approximately a jillion questions I had about everything from caulked boots to sole types and did so while also working and demonstrating things. The shop itself is also very cool and showcases the importance of modern cobblering (?) when it comes to sustainable materials and reducing materialism, consumerism, and waste. If I need boots fixed in the future I wouldn't hesitate to bring them to Dave. Thanks again!

Brought in a belt that needed repair and in a snap with a few adjustments my belt was fixed and at no cost! In fact a customer ahead of me was inquiring about the soles of his boots and the owner instructed this customer on how to fix his boots, again no charge! I am now letting people know this is an honest and respectful self employed cobbler that is a credit to society and he’s going to get more business as I am going over my shoes that need quality repair. So glad my partner and I were able to find Dave’s shop in Oak Bay! We live in Langford and after calling a couple of Cobbler’s closer to us, we were referred to by one of them to Dave - citing him as a specialist.Top tier service. He specially ordered in a certain type of protective sole for us. And when we brought in a wedding shoe that needed “emergency” service - Dave provided NEXT DAY service, for not just the one pair, but both pairs we were wanting done.Thank you very much Dave, our new Cobbler :)

The Oak Bay Cobbler is absolutely the best place for shoe repair in town, from the quality of the work to the customer service. The owner is so lovely! And he always does an amazing job. Last summer I needed to get the heels of my Birkenstocks repaired, which he did a great job with at a much better price than I'd experienced previously at other repair shops in town. Then this summer I found new cracks in the soles running into the repaired cork. The owner was kind enough to offer to repair them again free of charge, even though the cracks were much further into the shoe than where he'd originally done work last year. I just got them back, and I'm so happy to have them feeling like new. He's the best at what he does and I'm always blown away by his kindness. I'd never go anywhere else!!
