I am responding to Heather Patriquin's review. I do not work for John's and I do not know anybody working there, however I am a customer. I have always found the people working at John's polite and helpful. I too did not like that they were estimating the bottles in a bag, but it was during the peak of Covid-19 and I understood that everyone was just trying to do their best to protect their employees and themselves. Giving a one-star review on Google is very damaging to a small business, and is a great over-reaction to the issues you outlined. It sounds as if they would count if you asked them too, but that was not a solution for you? Protect our local small businesses.

Only provides an estimate" of what's in a bag - does not count the actual bottles/cans. I called other bottle exchanges afterward and they told me that by law they are not able to refuse a request to count. So I recommend counting yourself if you want an accurate tally. Also wouldn't accept plastic individual drink containers for meal replacement (even though we were charged deposit at time of purchase)."

Great Service, gets pretty busy at times but staff work as hard as they can to keep up with demand.

There seems to be some miss communication with John's bottles depot and Heather Patriquin. During COVID restrictions , all local depot's were asked to estimate only. Now that the restirctions have been lifted, you now can have them counted. John's bottles ALWAYS gives their customers the choice on whether you wish estimate or a count. It is ALWAYS the customers choice, but you need to understand is that your bottles may not be able to be counted RIGHT THEN due to other customers who wish their stuff counted as well. Further to this, you NEED check your your sheet you recieve by mail each year from DIVERT Nova Scotia for you will clearly see that SOME meal replacements are NOT on the recycle list even though they are plastic. So are and some aren,t. Nothing with REAL milk in it is recycleable. I understand you are probably frustrated with having to wait for a count but John's bottles is a small local business and they are extremely dedicated to their customers and they try to count everything right then but people MUST understand that large orders do take time. They have no issues with you dropping your load off and they will call you immediately once your order is counted. They are sorry for your bad expereicne with them and they hope that this message clears up any miss understandings and they look forward to you're business.
