I went to adapt for help. They offered me counselling. I was really struggling and asked for a medical intervention. I was told there is no such thing. My counsellor wanted me to go into a 90 day in patient program. I have work, family, pets. I was a very high functioning patient. I felt if I went to in patient I would be taking one of only TWENTY beds from the homeless and people recovering from alcohol that needed the bed.I did some research and found RAAM. RAAM is a self referral medical intervention. They are incredibly nice and I cried with relief I started the first day I called. I was given withdrawal medication ever since. I see them virtually every week.When I brought RAAM to ADAPT’s attention, they said they made a decision on my behalf feeling I only needed counselling, (I see my own therapist). She made a decision on my behalf, I was asking for a medical intervention!!!! If you have a drug or alcohol program, I cannot say enough awful things about adapt and call RAAM kind, amazing, feel well the first day, covered by OHIP, non judgemental, help virtually or by phone. Call RAAM.

This centre is doing the Lord’s work. I hope Doug Ford doesn’t take an axe to it when it restructures the LHIN.

I needed help with a situation and was greeted by an amazing receptionist who put me at ease . I was quickly given an appointment to meet with someone and then was referred to another counselor . They are all amazing at adapt and offer wonderful programs and support .

I just finished the 5 day program and it was amazing. I now have the tools I need to go forward in life
