Really loved the atmosphere here at Buffalo Mountain Lodge. From the friendly and accommodating staff to the lovely amenities. As soon as we got here we were welcomed, and asked if we needed anything. They even called to check in on us after we checked in late to make sure everything was running smoothly with our room. The room was very clean and everything was working. We had plush, clean robes in plastic ready for us in the closet, which we definitely used for the hot tub. They also had clean towels in the room next to the hot tub if you didn’t bring your robe. After a long day of hiking in Banff, we lit a fire in the fireplace in our room. Which was already set up and they even included matches and kindling to make starting a fire easier. Even tho the price was expensive for one night because of summer inflation. It was so worth it and everything exceeded our expectations. Including the morning breakfast at their restaurant on site called The Prow. Already planning our next trip here! Can’t wait!

My girlfriend & I really enjoyed our stay at Buffalo mountain lodge. All the amenities they offered were so enjoyable & relaxing!Loved the in room robes they provided. We also really enjoyed the in room wood burning fire place and massive hot tub they had on site! The hot tub was perfect temperature and even had towels provided for us to use at the hot tub which was very helpful. We also really enjoyed there onsite breakfast the prow. Thank you to the staff who were all very accommodating! We look forward to booking our next mountain trip here with Buffalo mountain Lodge.

Location of the lodge itself is very nice and it’s away from downtown but there were a lot of unfortunate issues that made the stay less enjoyable. When we arrived the front staff told us that we were giving them a $300 security deposit in case we damaged anything, and would get it back at the end of our stay, which we found to be odd but we went ahead since we were staying for three nights. It turns out that it was actually our payment for the first night at the hotel and the front staff screwed up on our check-in instead. Following that the actual location of our room was horrible. They warned us of construction which was okay but the problem was that they put us in a room that was literally right outside where the construction crew were working (so we had construction vehicles outside our bedroom window, construction equipment right outside our door, construction workers walking around our property even as early as 8am) which was not very nice. It is the off season so you’d think they would have made sure to not use any cabins near the construction itself or at the very least not have bobcat vehicles parked outside the bedroom window. The cabin itself was nice but there were cobwebs on the fireplace and the shower had zero pressure. Another issue was the windows were old and didn’t lock and we were on the ground floor so it was a bit sketchy. Didn’t get a chance to use the hot tub as there were people there when we wanted to go and it’s a small hot tub. Kind of wish they had time slots to book a time. And lastly they don’t have any bus passes which was strange seeing how we are on the outskirts on town and the bus is right outside their door. Overall not the best and I would recommend that if you do stay here to make sure you get a room and not one of the cabins as they seem super nice but aren’t in a good location.

We stayed at the lodge for our anniversary-birthday celebration. The place was really nice, lovely surroundings and we loved our room with all the amenities. We made sure to lit up the fireplace every evening. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for quaint, and also close to downtown but still a bit off from the crowd. However, we didn’t have a great time dining at their restaurant The Prow. First, they got one of our dishes wrong and second, it took really long for the correct dish to come.

We had our wedding here and could not have asked for a better place. Wapiti longhouse is an amazing venue! The food was incredible for the wedding as well as the Prow. I have been quite a few times and have never had a bad experience with food. Some rooms are a bit outdated but I prefer these than the updated ones. Make sure your room has a bath, balcony and fridge when booking and you'll be set. It's across the street from tunnel mountain reservoir which is beautiful. There is a bus that goes into town often right outside hotel. Hot tub is great. Would definitely stay again. Only thing I would say is bring your own shampoo and conditioner, theirs are a bit hard to use.

Love! Stayed here 20 years ago on our honeymoon, came back to celebrate 20 years. Lots of improvement going on, but the restaurant was fantastic and we loved our second stay. Wish it had a common area, firepit etc, to hang with friends, but otherwise highly recommend!!

We stayed in several hotels in the Banff area, and this was by far the worst. It was incredibly overpriced for the quality of the room and service. We checked in for a wedding and immediately dropped our bags and went to spend time with family and friends. When we came back late that night we noticed the following:-toilet seat was broken-there was water damage EVERYWHERE in the bathroom.-the shower curtain was broken and it was literally impossible to keep the water inside the shower. Because of this, water got all over the floor. This was clearly an on-going issue since the door trim and baseboards were rotted all the way through to the outside of the bathroom, and there was a large stain on the carpet from repeated water getting the carpet wet and then drying. Obviously the carpets have never been cleaned as this is happening. The door trim and baseboards were wet to the touch and I'm sure mold-ridden-the bathroom fan was broken and smelt like it was burning while on-when the floors got wet from the shower we tried to dry it with a towel, only to pick up the towel and realize that the floors had not been mopped. The carpet was equally as disgusting when we tried to dry that up.-there was mold in the caulking and the grout-the noise traveled between rooms like you wouldn't believe. We could hear every. single. footstep from the people on each side and above us.Upon checkout, I mentioned these items and showed the pictures. The front desk girl (Taylor? I believe?) said that I should have said something when I noticed that night, and said that they could have corrected the issues or moved us rooms if I had said something that night. Obviously they weren't going to fix rotting wood. They clearly do not even care about it, otherwise it would have been fixed earlier.I was asked to email pictures of the damage, which I did, and then never received a response. After a week of waiting I followed up with my original email, and Steph emailed me back saying that if I ever stayed with them again and we came during an off-season month then they would upgrade our room *IF* an upgrade was available. Definitely not enticing.Safe your money and stay somewhere else. There are literally dozens of hotels that are better, more affordable, and closer to downtown.

This place has a lot of potential. The outdoor hot tub was lovely and Prow was delicious. The rooms are less than desirable. Uncomfortable bed, dingy old carpet and the weirdest shower I’ve ever used.We were only here for one night, upon check in we started a fire (the reason we booked here) and within minutes the room filled with smoke setting off the fire alarm. Even with all the appropriate things open on the fire place. We called the front desk that told us we just have to have the fire at the very back and that everything was fine. It still wasn’t better. The next morning when everything was cool, my husband stuck his hand in the chimney to open it manually. This should’ve been figured out the night before. We will definitely be looking at other options our next time in Banff

Came with our 2 kids and loved it. Your paying more for the location (just a few minutes drive from downtown Banff). The staff were super nice and accommodating and gave us whatever we needed for our kids (pack & plays, high chairs, etc.)Wasn’t 100% spotlessly cleaned but there was nothing gross and was totally fine for us.Loved the views nearby as well as the porch and fireplace (which we did not expect to have)Very happy

Went to a Banff wedding and stayed at the Buffalo Mountain Lodge and everything about it was top shelf. Other lodgings were more architecturally pleasing in a ski chalet style than the 800 block we inhabited, but it still had awesome views of the mountains.
