Kingston General Hospital Emergency Room

Worst hospital I’ve ever been to. Staff is unorganized and unsupportive. One constantly feels like they have to prove they’re sick. The staff is completely invalidating. They have been known to not accommodate halal food requests and be dismissive of Muslim women wanting privacy to cover in front of male doctors. Everyone I know who has gone here has hated it. They are especially dismissive of students and since Queen’s health resources are also bad it makes it impossible to get help. They are known to send you away with just a paper on migraines and a Tylenol. They did this even after the patient expressed that they were auto immune. It’s very upsetting. I would rather travel back to Toronto then get help in Kingston- a fact which is very inconvenient when in school.

Kindest emergency room staff I have ever dealt with. Susan at triage made all of us feel so much calmer. All the doctors and nurses we met were amazing.

Don't ever wear jewelry. Had an mri scan and never saw my silver chain and cross again. Beware. Other than that, quite pleasant.

My son arrived at KGH by ambulance Monday April 24/23 he went directly into a room and was immediately looked at by nurses and doctors. His care from the doctors and nurses and medicine team was top priority quality care. He arrived coming slowly outta of a seizure and no one was sure what from considering he has never been ill. They worked hard at getting CT, MRI quickly and met all my sons medical needs at that moment needing care. The emergency room was very , very busy and a line up of stretchers from 911 calls and they did a great job managing the room and all pitched in as a team and was able to get job done.My son is home and recovering as expected.Thanks to all nursing staff and doctors and medicine team. Thanks to everyone that took a part in his care too , porters , front desk staff , security guards and all others that smiled.Karen Bridger

Hospital staff are great and very helpful. I had C section and the nurses and doctors were very good.

Not bad 4 hr. Wait for Doctor. Nurses are very intentive .

When one is in need of medical assistance. The 24hr KGH is a great place for quality health care.

Beyond grateful for everything the nurses and doctors did for me. Was only there 4 hours- but they did all the necessary tests to figure out what was wrong. They finally figured out what was wrong with me after 2 trips to Brockville General, 2 trips to my own doctor and 1 trip to Kemptville hospital. Thank you sooo much

I had an excellent experience at the KGH emergency room this weekend. Dr. Rang, the attending ER physician, was extremely compassionate and knowledgeable and took lots of time explaining the details of my situation. Also to nurse Katie and Dr. Hung---thank you so much!
