Paw Prints Dog Grooming Salon

I'll preface this review by saying that Alma's (my cocker spaniel) haircut looks great. The layout of this salon is such that a dog is up on the table for grooming, and a number of other dogs are wandering around in the same area. When I went to pick up Alma, she came to the gate to greet me, along with another much larger dog that was loose in the same area. That dog then turned on Alma -- growled, snapped, lunged and barked at Alma while she literally screamed. The staff yelled the dog's name, but did nothing to otherwise intervene, and very little to bring Alma out to me quickly and safely. Instead, they handed me the interac machine. I asked whether that had happened before (specifically a reactive interaction between Alma and the other dog) and was told oh sometimes when dogs get excited they can snap like that". The staff were very nice and they got my dog in almost immediately. However, after my dog came back, we noticed she didn't smell good at all. In fact, she smelled way worse than she did before. We had to give her a dry bath just to cope with the smell. I don't know if it's because she was sharing the little waiting area with other dogs and those dogs were not clean yet or what. But yeah, we are pretty disappointed.

I've been going to Paw Prints for over two years. I haven't encountered any issues. They do a great job with my two poodles. They always follow my requests and the results always make me smile. I noticed they do let the dogs roam around, which is suitable for my pups.

Found this place as one of the best ones in Vancouver. Saw the reviews and got an appointment after 4 week and on the day of the appointment my dog was in for four hour. He came back the way he went in! Very minor trim around his eyes and rest everything was the same. The first photo is before the appointment and the second is right after. The trim was not blended in and looked very shabby. We paid full price for the service and now have to find another place for another grooming session. Disappointed.

Great, quick, and gentle staff. Brought my blind dog here twice for a nail trim and they've been awesome every time. He's strong and anxious about strangers but they've just taken it in stride. They make it look deceptively easy, well worth the $15 imo.

We are so happy to find this place. Jenn and her team provides the best service. Our puppy has so much fun when she goes in for her grooming appointment that she doesn't want to go home after! :) Thank you for taking care of our Bailey.

The women working here were so lovely, our kitty was less than stoked about getting his post-surgery matts dealt with but they really stuck through it with us, even though it took both my husband and I in the room to calm him down. They were incredibly professional and warm to us, and we got it done!Not too many groomers in this city will still take on the kitty lion cut so I SUPER appreciate that they have! The owner also coordinates adoptions and things outside of her work hours, she is a TRUE animal lover and we are so grateful to have her in the neighbourhood.1,000,000% recommend this place - great value, great craftsmanship, and incredible personality and love

They do the absolute best job grooming my Aussie, and took such great care of our old family doggo years ago. 10/10 would recommend.

My experience with this grooming salon is that they are unfortunately just not skilled enough. Seems like the recent reviews reflect this too.My dog is in need of a nail trim and he’s quite skittish when it comes to grooming (he’s a rescue). So we brought him in and after 2 minutes they said that they can’t cut his nails cuz he was resisting. If it was an easy task that does not require a professional, then I would’ve done it myself. They said that he would need a vet trimming instead.We brought him to Paw palace down the street and they had no issues with him. So it’s really unfortunate that they just weren’t skilled enough.EDIT due to the reply from the owner suggesting I am making this up / “forcing my dog to be groomed”: This was in October 2021, please don’t insinuate that I am making this up. I have absolutely zero affiliation with the other place. The other location just provides a positive reinforcement based experience for my dog rather than “forcing them” which is what your approach is as you said.
