Pooch Haven Grooming & Doggie Daycare

I was at first a customer (ongoing for about a year and a half) and just recently an employee as well. My family has three chihuahuas, two of which are incredibly anxious and they have always done well here. The staff was kind and diligent, and my dogs always come home in good spirits! This lead me to extend interest in working at pooch haven and since joining the team I’ve experienced nothing but a welcoming, dedicated and professional atmosphere.

UPDATE: Just making sure this review stays at the top - ThanksPlease think twice before you book!!They dropped us as clients after one cut on my cockapoo because they felt the dog needs to be cut once every month and a half. They cancelled our appointment!!I guess they think they know better but people are capable of trimming and bathing their own dogs and I don’t need someone telling me how to raise my animalJust an FYI on the culture of this company before you go in

I've been working here for more than a month, and I only have positive things to say about it. It's great because I've never had any real work experience before, particularly with animals. The staff has been very fun to work with and are very responsible and respectful with their work.They maintain a professional attitude all the time and make sure that all the dogs are taken care of and happy.

I've been working here for a month. I have no prior work experience in the grooming field they were very friendly, helpful and they answered all of my questions. what I can say form working here is that everyone here is nice, kind, polite and very professional about everything they do and every dog that leaves here are happy and look forward to coming back.

I have been a client of Pooch Haven Grooming for the last 13 years. My first dog Zoey was blind and shy. Rachelle was so good with Zoey. She always made her feel comfortable and took amazing care with her. Now, my dog Charlie, who has a bit more spunk, Rachelle still has the same approach of making him feel comfortable and well cared for. Both dogs have always looked amazing after being groomed by Rachelle and her staff. After searching and visiting quite a few doggy daycares, we finally found the one! Pooch Haven is welcoming, clean, and nicely setup. The staff are friendly and educated- offering tips/tricks. My pup gets excited when attending and I feel comfortable sending him. Highly recommend!

I brought our 5-month-old puppy to Pooch Haven after another groomer was not able to work with her. Rachelle was able to take care of our Portia who can be anxious. She looked and smelled wonderful. Very happy with the services. Our pup just had her second grooming and once again looks amazing and feels like velvet. I would highly recommend Rachelle and her team.

We had a few positive experiences at Pooch Haven when we first started bringing out dog for seasonal grooming and de-shedding. Our large breed dog requires a little more attention, as she suffers from separation anxiety and cannot be left chained or in a crate unattended. After our first few grooming sessions, we started to get charged for 'extra brushing' because she has a lot of fur. We were paying around $100 for de-shedding to begin with, and were charged extra without being consulted first. Our final straw was the last time we brought her to be groomed. She was left chained to the grooming table, attempted to jump off and injured herself right by her dew claw (a large, open wound that was visibly bloody). The groomer apologized but also tried to convince me that it was not necessary to take her to the vet, as it would heal on its own. We did not receive any discount or refund. After consulting with friends who work as vet technicians, I took our dog to the vet to ensure she did not get an infection and to see if she needed stitches or staples. The vet immediately gave me antibiotics so that the wound would not get infected and insisted that we bring her up for a follow-up. Out vet bill cost as much as it did to have her groomed. It was greatly unprofessional for Pooch Haven to plead to not take our dog to the vet after being injured at their establishment. I would not recommend using their services.
