After a complete basement flood last July, we spent the next 5 months dealing with the Insurance Company and all things that entails. Once we decided that we were going to handle the renovations on our own, we contacted McKeen Construction to start to work on a vision. Ian came out to view the current basement then we started to collaborate on a NEW design and added features that we were really wanting to do since we bought the place. Ian and his Team were great at changing and revising our vision as well as coming up with some great ideas for layout. We ended up taking out walls and opening up the space to include, a brick feature wall with fireplace and TV, wet bar, Jersey wall, powder room with zero gravity toilet (we are on septic) a new laundry room/gym and a Music room. Dylan and the team of staff and contractors started at the end of January and worked steady until it was done 2 weeks before schedule. Dylan and the team were very respectful and worked hard to meet the given deadlines. We did have a few hiccups (who hasn't these days!!) but they were handled quickly and professionally. I would not hesitate to recommend the McKeen Team to anyone looking for general Contracting services.

We contracted McKeen Construction to upgrade a full bathroom, 2 piece bath and to make improvements to our finished basement including replacement of drop ceilings with drywall, floor tiling and lighting upgrades.Our experience began with the quoting stage. We met Ian who was meticulous collecting the details that he would need to provide a quote. We received a detailed quote including drawings and room by room breakdown of the proposed work. McKeen were not the lowest quote but inspired confidence that the quote provided was accurate. Ian inspired confidence in the way he paid close attention to detail and answered our questions.The next stage was orchestrated by Dylan, he met with us and walked through the entire project step by step. We were provided with a graphical calendar outlining the planned stages of work. Dylan was extremely responsive to our questions and easy to reach at all times during the project. He handled some minor issues quickly and satisfactorily. The trades people were very professional and polite.The project came in on time and budget. My husband and I recently hired McKeen Construction to renovate our kitchen, and we are so thankful that we found this wonderful company. While there certainly have been small projects that we have tackled and DIY, when it came to completing a major renovation project, we thankfully decided to leave that up to professionals.We ended up selecting McKeen Construction.From our initial meeting to the very end of our project, we couldn’t say enough great things about McKeen Construction.We decided on doing pretty much a full gut job and re-construction of our main floor. This included opening up walls, planning and bringing a vision to life that we had only in our minds. Ryan was fantastic in assisting with not only the planning of bringing this to life but also making his own design recommendations that helped make our vision even better.Communication is absolutely vital in a project of this magnitude and Ryan or anyone on the McKeen Team was always available and willing to discuss and answer questions throughout the process. The Team was extremely professional and attention to detail absolutely amazing.I have heard a lot of horror stories on major renovations and that has been happening even more so during COVID. Fortunately McKeen stayed true on original quotes and pretty much got the entire project completed on the promised time frame. We even occasionally requested some last minute add ons, tweaks or even additional work and everything was always completed with no hassle and as agreed. We were well aware that COVID was providing a lot of challenges for the industry, from shortages of trades, issues getting materials and run away costs. Somehow Ryan managed all this without missing a beat!Our home is now practically a new house and for the fraction of the cost of changing homes.The project brought our vision to life and has turned our first home into our dream home.Ryan and the McKeen Team were amazing professionals, attentive, honest and trustworthy.They always followed through on their commitments and we would recommend them over and over again.IF we ever need to take on another project, McKeen Construction will be the first call we make.

Just finished adding two dormers to our home with McKeen. Major renovations and ripping our roof off with a newborn in the house is not the easiest but Dylan and the McKeen team made the process as smooth as possible. Dylan was always extremely responsive, personable, and genuinely cared about our project and our happiness with the work being completed. Everything turned out great and our project finished up 2 weeks ahead of schedule and on budget, which has been a huge relief! Huge thanks Dylan and everyone who worked on our house; hopefully the kids won’t destroy it too quickly!

I also found Dylan offer suggestions that only made my kitchen and laundry better. He is the person I would want to work with again. The renovations have been timely and beyond my expectations.
