This is the second time we've had Jon Robertson from ShelfGenie of Vancouver design and install a custom cabinet system for us and, like our first experience, this one was outstanding. We have all the features we want, we've made the best use of available (and sometimes quirky) cabinet space, and it puts just about everything we need within easy reach. We've had side-by-side lower cupboards transformed into two and three slide-out drawer units, a narrow 'baking and sheet pans' drawer changed into a pull-out spice rack, and have upgraded our existing pantry from four to five drawers. I used ShelfGenie to create a small roll-put pantry in my home and make the blind corner cabinet usable/accessible.The product looks great and so far the quality appears solid.The cost is on the higher end when I compared, but I chose ShelfGenie based on their workmanship and reviews.Everything went seamless up to install, when it appears there had been a mistake in measuring and ordering.Jon was my installer and he did work with me to quickly rectify this and they didn’t charge me for the shelf that didn’t fit.Overall, not a perfectly smooth experience but they did quickly resolve the problem to my satisfaction and for that I was thankful.

UPDATE: the problem is now fixed.Joseph called and came by the next day after our review was posted and fixed the very small problem in less than 5 minutes! Seems there was a lot of miscommunication.It appears though that after sales service is NOT on their menu. Two weeks ago a small problem arose with one shelf. I called the local number to ask advice. Got voicemail which promised a response. 14 days, no call back. 10 days ago I called their 800-number. Spoke to a live rep. She promised a response. Never happened. I also emailed the salesperson whose email address was on my paperwork. 10 days for her, no response! This was a simple request for advice re a shelf not working correctly. How disappointing to be so totally ignored.

My kitchen has just gone up the “functionality scale” from a “3” to a “7” with more accessible storage space. Once next phase is fine I will have a “10” kitchen!

ShelfGenie were absolutely fantastic, knowledgeable, friendly people, passionate about their work. Another firm had said our problem was insolvable as the cupboard space was too small. Ha! not so for Joseph and Jon, some measurements, some thinking and problem solved. Thanks folks! Great job!

They installed roll out shelving within each lower cabinet. It was completed within a couple of hours and works perfectly.Installer was very personable, timely and professional.Just completed today which is why you see some empty shelving. The empty cabinet is for tupperware which requires some strategic thinking, OH SO MUCH FUN, I am so glad that I treated myself to this luxury and will enjoy for years to come.

The team at Shelf Genie is fantastic! Having the new glide-out shelves designed and installed especially for our pantry was like a magical makeover! I just LOVE the ability to organize and see everything on my shelves now, plus my square footage of available pantry space doubled!
