Kool and funky performance venue. Great vibe.

A regular venue for Vancouver International Jazz Festival near harbour/waterfront at north end of Main Street. A VERY comfy and folksy spot with feel somewhere between 1) a large oldtime community rec-room-cum-livingroom /bar, and 2) early-20th Century industrial worksite museum with iron relics from original shop. I've been there for evening shows 2017 & 2018: best if you prefer avant-garde/way-out experimental jazz. Most of crowd appeared to be older retired whiteguys like me. Missing & very surprising to me: Asian faces in crowd. Perhaps just typical JazzFest crowd. However, someone suggested that Asians might be choosing to avoid attending events at this location as it is only blocks away from Skid Row (Hastings & Main St)----with attendant personal security concerns, especially wariness/risk of parking expensive cars on street in area. Whatever, Ironworks is definitely worth a visit---especially during JazzFest.

Former iron works foundry, current performance and event space. Some seating on creaky risers, great out of the way location between Gastown and the East side.

Best place ever! I go around jazz festival events. The place is so welcoming, comfortable. Various spaces to enjoy as well. Unique! The owner is wonderful!

Cozy cool venue for Coastal Jazz concerts, general admission seating, beer & wine bar at opening & intermission. Vehicle and bike parking is a challenge. Better to cab or transit.

We were fortunate enough to be able to hold our wedding reception at this incredible venue -- what a unique spot in the city! The interior decor is wonderfully weird and whimsical which meant that we didn't have to do a tonne of decorating...the place is interesting enough on its own. We adore The Ironworks, can't wait to attend shows and performances here in the future!

best independent venue in Vancouver. Jazz shows, art, events both private and public. Reasonable entry fee usually.
