The Dunes at Kamloops

Nice place. Bit far from town. Quiet. They seem to be pushing evening craft fairs in addition to their brunch and other restaurant style options. Of course there's also the fairways and greens if you need to go stretch your legs. The grounds are well maintained. Lots of parking. As I mentioned... It's a bit far up westsyde for some folks but it's also up where some of the hidden gems in town are - so I would say it's worth stopping by.

My wife and I love this place since we were married here. Great food in the restaurant and friendly staff. Excellent venue for weddings and group events. Pretty cool golf course as well!

Attended a beautiful wedding here. Location was stunning, staff was amazing, food was great! I do wish there were more obvious signage about where things are, but otherwise, great place for an event.

My husband and I were so excited to go and have a meal at this restaurant because we had heard that their buffet was wonderful so we went on a Sunday. Well, what a mistake! Even though on the website it said the buffet was on, it wasn’t, their staff was the worst I’ve ever encountered with the worst service and personalities as if were bothering them just by being there, the food made us all sick and we will never go back again. Don’t waste your money!

Starting raining after I played 1 hole, and they wouldn’t give me a rain check. I asked before I tee’d off if i needed a receipt in case it rained, pro shop said no receipt needed, “all good”. I assumed he’d remember me. I came back in after it started raining on the 2nd hole and asked for a refund and same kid says sorry we don’t do rain checks! I asked him why he didn’t tell me when I paid and he says I didn’t ask. Paid $45 for 1.5 holes of golf, luckily it stopped raining in 20 mins so I went back out. Lots of poor reviews of this place, poor business practices, pro shop says I should have checked forecast, I said I did and that’s why I asked if I needed a receipt for a rain check. Need to train employees better.

Food was great service good, but it down poored for 9 holes, an no rain cheque for back 9,bad business already paid for the holes! That's a no brainer, would have went back for 9, paid for another nine an ate an spent more money! Now just head to Kamloops Golf an Country club, which right behind my house, silly Dunes, can see why there was hardly anyone there now!

I'm not one to say bad things about courses or companies online but the experience that I had here, my friends have had here, and my wife has had here with her friends has been very negative. The Marshalls were constantly honest telling us to keep pace even though the course was the one that paired us with a fourth that we didn't ask for. My wife and her friends were hassled the entire time they were there even though they were playing best ball and got so bad that they asked the Marshall if they just wanted them to leave off the course on the third hole. They were also hassled about what they were wearing (by an older female pro shop worker) which was a tank top and golf skirt even though they sold identical outfits in the pro shop, they couldn't help but feel like they were being profiled. In all my years of golfing I have never been pressured by Marshall's like I have been here at this course, or heard of my wife being hassled the way she was as well. The course itself was well kept and fun to play, hence the second star. Most likely won't be returning to this location unless things change.

Have been a member since fall of 2022 and very pleased with the condition of the course, the restaurant and the overall management. This is the 3rd Kamloops course I have been a member of since moving here in 1982 and in terms of how it is run and managed is at the top. Glenda is a wonderful manager, always helpful and friendly and has made sure that her pro shop staff are the same. The course is in fine shape, there is always a starter at the first tee to make sure groups get off at time, and I see a course marshal making the rounds ever day checking to see if everything is ok on the course. Overall, a terrific golf facility.

Loved the staff and service but I ordered a grilled chicken burger and I received twice cooked dried up chewy jerky style stir fry chicken pieces in the burger bun. I asked for a real chicken breast but was told no and no discounts, and even though I only took one bite out of the burger, and sent it back, I had to pay in full. Money not being the problem, just more of a desire to eat something other than sawdust chewy chicken strips trying to pretend to be a chicken burger…hmmm….. I asked for something else and was told only if I paid in full for a different entree….An odd experience. The server tried to help but has a strict rule, no meal remakes and if the cook thinks it’s fine then you can like it or lump it…I just paid for it then threw it in the garbage on the way out… so sad.

Good place to grab a bite! Had the breakfast and they are healthy portions with delightful potato hash. Staff are super friendly and welcoming!
