We stopped by here because of the 5 star rating & we were excited to try the food. The lady serving there was hilarious, it had a homey atmosphere, and we did have a good time, but most of the food was terrible & over salted. My burger was not bad however, so for a safer option go with a burger.Perhaps this was an off day for the kitchen, but I think this restaurant would absolutely thrive with a different cook, as the lady serving made the experience so much fun and had the food been good we probably would have made it one of our regular stops.

Traveling to Winnipeg, The Elkhorn was a lovely stop. We stopped in on Christmas Eve looking for a diner just like it. Although they were closed, the kind lady came running out saying she would feed us. We had amazing food there, the bacon cheeseburger and perogies were delicious. Definitely recommend stopping by and we will be coming back next year!Thank you for your great hospitality!

Had a delicious lunch at Gardens diner today. The place itself feels like stepping into a cozy cottage. The owner is also very kind and friendly. She made us home cooked meals from scratch that make us feel right at home. Another great part was that a meal for two cost us $35!

My husband and I were on a trip across Canada and we were sick of eating take out. We came across this restaurant and we were so happy with how fresh, delicious and wholesome this food was. Would definitely recommend and we look forward to heading back.Also with Covid 19 going on the restaurant was very clean and all the rules were enforced.Service was amazing very friendly!

Amazing homemade food at a great price. Homemade coleslaw was $1.50. Super friendly staff with a great vintage atmosphere. Must stop!

This was our first stop on our girls weekend. A random stopped that started off our trip in the best way. The food was delicious and very acomadating to my special food needs. The service is amazing and entertaining. Our cheeks hurt from laughing so hard.

Went for a quick bite (this is not fast food please note) on our cross country trip. Clean, friendly, too cute. The food was home cooked and superb. Embraces flatland culture of relaxed time and atmosphere. Do stop by.

If I could give this place 10/5 stars I would!Effie and Glen were beyond gracious and a true pleasure to spend a moment in time with.My wife and I are travelling across the country with our 11 month old Twins and we were welcomed with open arms and big smiles!Effie went so far as to even make a comfortable space on the floor for our girls to play and crawl on! Family dining at its finest.The food was made with love and delicious.If you have the option of stopping in here- I can't recommend it enough.

Best mac and cheese with bacon that I've ever had and exceptionally reasonable prices. Very friendly hosts, great place.
