Qualicum Beach School Of Dance

Decent school, they do well at teaching and encouraging kids ... but they seem to be suffering from their success. Mostly they seriously need to rethink their performance strategy! My daughter is 6, and her first performance was in a massive 2-hour long gongshow. It is supposed to showcase all of the students, but it seemed to focus on the musical theatre directors daughter, who got at least 15 minutes of stage time while most students got 2-4 minutes. My family paid a total of $105 in admission to see my daughter on stage for 2 minutes!They should split this in to two separate performances rather than making all the young kids wait 1.5 hours in their seats before they perform. This performance included 10 minutes of book recital. There were tons of young families with lots of kids 4 and under... how do they expect young kids to sit and wait patiently for such a long show?

Our daughter LOVES her class each week here. Ms. Selva is wonderful with the toddlers, encouraging them to join in and guiding them towards a fuller understanding and love of dance. COVID hasn't made this year easy and even her zoom class kept our now 3 year old glued to her every word <3
