Brockville General Hospital

Had to go to the ER this past week for a pinched/swollen nerve. Waited 7 hours The emergency doctor came in, asked what the problem was, roughly lifted up my shirt and pressed on my back. Then told me to take 5 Tylenol every few hours. Wrote on a form for my work that my injury is just back pain. Had to return back to work with restrictions of no twisting/ bending, lifting, operating ing heavy equipment etc. While at work, I followed those restrictions very carefully, did basically nothing except walk around, and sit when I needed too. Pain got worse, made a doctors appointment, turns out my muscle is swollen and pushing/irritating my nerve and swelling my nerve. And at my doctors appointment, my shirt did not need to be lifted up at all. And my doctor told me everything he was going to do, unlike the emerg doctor. Now I understand they can be busy, but while I was waiting on the bed for the doctor to come look at me, I saw them and the nurses just sitting around laughing. Brockville general hospital emerg is a joke. Going to be visiting the kingston or smith falls emerg when I have to. Don’t care about the drive. Would rather be comfortable, and understand what is actually wrong with me.

Brockville has a great hospital and staff.Like all Healthcare providers they do an exception job while having to work with a budget provided by all levels of government and the voting public.

Have only had positive experiences here. Wait times for the emergency room were excellent, close to zero wait every time we have visited. Scheduled appointments have been punctual, waiting rooms are uncrowded, staff are genuinely helpful and caring.

Excellent service when bought in by ambulance and on iv for 8 hours. ..the first part of diagnostics and treatment worth 5 stars. But took off iv and gave me pills and sent home with prescription for pills. Threw up 5 mins after leaving. Continued throwing up for 5 days. Was still so sick that it took 5 days to realise i was allergic to pill they gave me in hospital and a prescription for.

Horrible hospital have been waiting 5 hours husband has been extremely sick with vomiting ect stuck him in the waiting room with a puke bag has had no fluids in one to 24 hrs the nurse sed they are seeing the quicker cases first as my husband deteriorated just horrendous

My sister in law is in the hospital and her brother called from Alberta to see how she was, they wouldn’t even tell him if she was ok! Her husband was given the same treatment! Very rude and inconsiderate!

Personally I cant see how anyone could give this hospital any less than 5 stars. I had a knee replacement surgery, these people were angels from reception to Aaron taking me patiently to my ride home. Awesome, thanks!

So… just watched the 2014 documentary on you. Your ownership and staff doesn’t see mental patients as people. Have you fired everyone who works here yet? They should all be admitted to a separate mental hospital where they learn how to treat people as human beings.

I am shocked at the low reviews because this is one of the best hospitals I have ever visited. It's very clean, the staff are professional and even more than that, they're kind and they want to help. I have dealt with a phobia of hospitals since I was a small child and my experience at BGH really helped me to get over my fears. Dr. Gill saw me and he is extremely talented, skilled, and empathetic. Wait times were minimal, but I came in in the middle of the night so I feel like that's a bit of a given in a small city like Brockville, but still much appreciated nonetheless. TL;DR: if you go to Brockville General, you are in good hands.

They saved my life last year when my appendix was near to bursting, saw me right away and correctly identified the problem and operated without delay. Then yesterday I slipped on ice and broke 2 ribs. The ambulance was here (Mallorytown) in 14 minuets and they stabilized me and gave me drugs for pain and oxygen as well. Exray was fast and accurately showed the trouble.Big shout out to all the excellent staff and especially the hot nurses!!Everything super clean and new looking.Thankyou!!!
