Gaffer's Restaurant & Lounge
I took my dad there for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The service was phenomenal and our waitress was very attentive to our needs. The food was delicious and the portions were very good. I had the burger with sauted mushrooms and onions, it tasted great. My dad had the fish and chips and it as well was amazing, I tried a piece of his breaded pickerel and it was the best I've tasted in Manitoba, that includes Gimli. We had the beef vegetable soup to start which was good as well, lots of tasty chunks of beef in the soup. The prices we above the average but it was well worth it, I will definitely be back for more and recommend it to anyone who enjoys good food!

When go there, some people where waiting and told us they been waiting a while. We waited for about 15-20 mins more no one came till we phoned and said there are people waiting at the wait desk.When we started I asked what sauce was on the burgers, waitress did not know but most of them had them listed so I ordered and burger I got had sauces not listed on menu. As well when I asked waitress joked grease was the sauce, only for when my burger came, half the plate was covered in grease. Our second dish was great, cooked fish fantastic, but both plates where very small portions for the cost.Waitress was very kind but seem new and young and didn’t know what to do with our complaints on the food but did a great job serving.

Truly an amazing place to visit, with awesome people and food.Update:December 31,2018Took our family here for News Years. The food was amazing. However, it took four hrs to have our meal for a $390.00 bill. Our waitress was extremely polite, professional and extremely attentive. But she appeared to have a few large parties that took the majority of her time. For a New Years event, one would think they would have more staff on. This restaurant is a favourite place for our family. So kinda disappointed with the service. But overall we had an amazing time and enjoyed the life music.

Burger was good. Tasted homemade, and was nicely sized. I liked the atmosphere. Had a quaint cabin feel. The staff was very friendly and outgoing.

Melissa was an excellent server! We sat on the patio tonight upstairs she was lovely to talk with and she was efficient and pleasant. Drinks were great. We will come back!

We've done take out from gaffers before, and it was okay so we decided to go there for supper tonight. We were quite disappointed.The restaurant has an extremely tired interior. It seems like they don't have enough servers in the dining area. Most of them are upstairs, and the outside patio/ bar area.Even though there were only about 3 other tables in the dining area, it took over thirty minutes for our meal to be served.I have a good salad. It was a side salad and a good size, but my french onion soup had to be the worst I've ever had. Sorry!Service was quite slow. We were not checked on except once. When we decided it was time to go and had been waiting long enough for the check, we went inside to pay our bill and saw our waitress chatting with a customer at the bar. It was a disappointing meal and experience.

Always have had good food, but this last time, food not good. Wanted to share a dish, we had to ask for an additional plate. No condiments. Yes it was windy on the patio, but the umbrellas were left up, one flew off, hit me in the head. No staff to help, another customer helped collapse the umbrella, bad experience.

There are not many choices to eat in this area, therefor, so saying it's the best option does not translate to being worthy of the prices. Have eaten there twice, both on a Sunday night when it's quiet. It's clean, friendly and a local spot that does make a pleasant evening

Gaffer's Restaurant & Lounge
Attended Gaffers for an early dinner. We were the only ones present in the restaurant area. The service received was great. The food was average tasting and overpriced. The atmosphere was darkish aswell. Meals had were - beef ribs with veggies and Ceasars salad. 10 Oz steak with veggies and potato. Children's burger with fries and milk chocolate.
