Changing my review. First: what kind of service does not have anyone to welcome you o the front door. Second: how long someone should wait to get to donate blood. Donating blood is stressful on its own, let alone having to sit down listening to people chatting and laughing and no one takes you in!!

I am first time donor and the service was excellent.All the staff were very nice and friendlymade my first experience fun and easy.

I’ve donated 22 times and going to this main location makes such a difference to the donor’s experience being positive. Unlike pop-up locations, the Wharncliffe location is permanent so all the best equipment, chairs, and staff are there. It’s always a pleasant experience and I’ll keep coming back. Once done donating, you get free cookies and drinks. Try the Oreos, I don’t know where they source them from but they taste better than what you’d get at the grocery store.

Great experience. Nurses and staff are very helpful and friendly. Clean and modern facilities. I would recommend downloading the app in advance so you can do the pre screening questions in advance and save yourself a lot of time.

With the world going through a pandemic and all you can’t really drop in anywhere without an appointment. So by calling it dumb it in fact makes you look dumb and now I feel dumb knowing you will never see this…

I was there today. And the medical staff are excellent and treated me with the utmost respect and the staff are very respectful and nice. It was a great experience .

I’ve donated O- whole blood 12 times and made the personal decision to temporarily switch to plasma donation. I’ve always had such a lovely time donating and the employees treat me well and I leave feeling good about myself for helping others in a really special way.Today during my first ever plasma donation I experienced discrimination and harassment due to my blood type. Four separate employees tried to stop me from donating plasma instead of whole blood.It made me incredibly uncomfortable and frustrated that I was expected to justify my choice or change my mind and donate what they felt I should donate.I think what upset me most is how they were acting like the organization is entitled to my whole blood donation instead of what I choose to donate.Policies and procedures need to be reworked to prevent something like this happening to another donor.

I have always had great experiences giving blood at this location. Today, I needed the attention of a nurse (Mary) who was very kind and helpful and made me feel more comfortable. All of the staff are great!

Great experience all around. The staff were friendly and professional. The space was very well organized and clean. Many thanks to Nurse Kelly. Will be back soon AFTER my trip to the mountains in September.
