I have fostered with this organization for close to 10 years. I have gone on rescue trips and been involved since almost the beginning. I also have experience with another prominent rescue in Calgary. In my experience, BARCs Rescue is first and foremost about rescuing dogs. I feel that they do a very difficult job to the best of their ability and save more dogs than any other rescue I've known. They are good people doing a hard job.

I ordered a chia soy latte and a vegan pot pie. Both were delicious, and the pot pie was huge! It's definitely a weekly treat ❤️

I adopted this lovely little guy in the summer of 2017, I believe. I have nothing but good to say for rescue foundations, and I was looking for a little dog specifically. I adopted 18 month old Kace". He was and still is a God send to me. BEST DOG EVER. Unfortunately

The volunteer rescue heroes of BARC's are second to none. We first became a foster fail in October of 2020 and have been an avid follower since. We will soon open our home to foster again. Our family remains strong advocates for their rescue mandate and efforts. The team is always professional and prompt. The foster and adoption process were clearly understood and team members walk you through each step and support you well past adoption day.We all must note these heroes face tremendous stress and heartbreak during rescues and likely sort through 100's of applications. They care first and foremost for the dogs and their future which is exactly why they will remain our rescue of choice!Keep up the amazing work - you have changed the lives of so many dogs and the people who get to share their love.Thank you - to each and everyone of you. Shiner is living his best life - we promise!

Adopted my girl Rory with them. Started as a foster and foster failed after picking her up in January. Rescuing/adopting/fostering is always unknown. Never blame the rescue! Anything that happens comes with the territory since we and the rescues themselves know nothing about these animals. If you aren’t understanding of this don’t rescue! My girl was a stray. Great communication from numerous members of the BARCS team and so much support! Even to this day I could message them for any advice I needed.

I would love to give this organization a 5* review just because of how well organized and compassion they have been and continue to be. This is/was my first time dealing with a rescue organization here in Alberta. During the pandemic while off from my job and having all the time in the world until I got another job I decided to foster a dog from them. While some of the dogs they rescue may not have the best description or health records, the organization is there to help with any issues and concerns you have about your foster or adopted dog. I personally went in to foster as many dogs as I can, but ended up adopting my foster boy, Alfie. As he normally is an amazing dog, he did have minimum behavior issues which they contacted one of the best trainers I've ever worked with to help guide my boy in the right direction and now he's doing AMAZING. Rescue organizations don't necessarily have the right amount of funds but they're heart and compassion go a long way. I would definitely foster with them again in the near future! Also they are very knowledgeable when it comes to decompressing, behaviour, and any issues you'd have with your dog.

Barcs do an incredible job, I recently fostered an old boy that they rescued from a shelter in California on the day that he was about to be euthanized. Their volunteers go above and beyond to step up and make a difference
