Ceratec - Calgary

Terrible customer service. We arrived at 4pm last night, knowing that the store closed at 4:30pm but couldn't get away from work any earlier. When we walked in the lady working was helping another couple (we had no problem waiting) and did not even acknowledge us. 20 minutes later they were still talking (socializing) and the lady working there had still not said a word to us (even, I will be with you when I finish up) even though we had made eye contact. We left, walking right past the lady and the couple who were standing near the exit and she did not say a word. Will not be going there to purchase our tile.

Very friendly staff. They knew a lot about the tile selection how it would go well together. They even helped us envision the design of our bathroom. Prices are very good and I would go back for any other renovations in my house.

The help on choosing tile colour and pattern was good. Also they recommended a great tile installer (Dave Normoyle). However, you will need to be careful about taking Ceratec's advice on quantities, tile edging sizes, and thin set because they don't take returns. They specified and sold us 3/8 edging for 1/2" thick tile

They were not bad to deal with, picking up an order for another flooring store. They were short to deal with but not rude. Made me wait in my truck for an hour and a half while they picked the order that they new I was coming to get.

Extremely unprofessional with no structure or format for this company to run decently. Poor warehouse Management: with NO daily direction or team building moments. Employees are all over the place, especially with an over abundance of work place gossip which is not addressed or dealt with disciplinary action. No safety measures or SOP are in place for the warehousing or company as a whole. Which makes for an unsafe workplace. Manager, warehouse manager and lead hand all talk and gossip about one another that no wonder the warehouse is in such shambles. Pallets dropped all over the place, broken and unsafe bits of tiles everywhere and uncertified forklift operators driving all over the place. Needs a massive overhaul to come close to a professional business.

I ordered tiles for a bathroom in my new home from Ceratec through a distributor. I selected a tile with white-grey tone. However, when the tiles arrived, they had a different color than I saw in the showroom. The arrived tiles looked darker and more beige and did not match my idea for the bathroom at all. Through the distributor I contacted Ceratec to complain about the quality of their tiles, photos were attached. While they did recognize that they indeed sent tiles, different from what they have in showrooms, they refused to accept the complaint. No apology.Here is what their regional manager, David Marineau, wrote:The dye lots may often vary in shade and tone and even in sizes sometimes. The sample board was produced with one dye lot and the client ordered material and it was from a different dye lot. This is normal and is not considered a quality issue."In fact

I bought a small amount of tile from Ceretec and from picking the tile in the showroom to picking up in the warehouse, everyone there treated me well. In particular Sheila in shipping was extra helpful as I had left all the details of my order at home yet she was able to work with me to figure it out. I had to make a few visits due to underestimating and the warehouse guys helped me to my car with the 1 box of tile. This was not the case when I went to Tierra Sol, I had to carry from the crate to my car. The ladies in the showroom were great as well!

I purchased several different tiles form a flooring store in Calgary through Ceratec. The flooring store I dealt with was terrible but Ceratec really took the time to help me even though I wasn't technically the client, the floor store was. They were able to combine stock and get me my tiles in 1.5 week as opposed to the 8-10 weeks I was told from the flooring store! Will definitely go out of my way to purchase from this company again!
