Surrey Lane Apartments

This is one of the worst places ive ever lived. Do not expect ANY of your concerns to be dealt with ever. The staff are rude and NEVER EVER AVAILABLE they take 15 breaks a day so if you have to talk to anyone good luck. This is my 2nd week without a shower and I have some brat downstaires giving me attitude for calling and inquiring when it will be fixed. When my lease is up im out. DONT MOVE HERE IT LOOKS NICE BUT ITS NOT! If i cud give zero stars i would, its that bad!

If I could give zero stars, I wish to do that. Basically this apartment office manager is NOT polite and NOT responsible for their work. They don't pick up the phone well and try to fight the resident. Because the toilet bowl is broken, I submitted a work order 1 week ago but still they don`t come to fix it. Also more than several days, they are fixing the water pipe (?) I cannot use the water at home! Really TERRIBLE apartment!

During my short stay, I found it decent to live in.There seems to be mixed reviews, but the only issue on my end was it was out of my budget.There were no cockroaches, or bugs in my unit. My neighbours weren’t loud, and the appliances were OK.The only reason for me leaving is the cost, I just can’t afford to live here, unfortunately.Management was very responsive, and quick to answer my requests.I wish it would of worked out, but costs are ever increasing.

This is the worst building i have ever lived in for the price. The heat is non exsistant, we have sent down multiple work orders to fix t6his and other things that never get attention. We constantly get booklets slide in our door advising us they are shutting the elevator or water off. The so called workers in the office are literally NEVER there to help- NEVER. I am so sick of this but who do we complain to about the terrible job being done here. Anyone know bc there is zero accessible info. DONT LIVE HERE

We lived here for year and there’s nothing good about these apartments. The heat doesn’t work during the winter so the windows grow black mold, when you place a work order they hardly fulfill it, big elevator is always broken even after they were replaced in 2020, cockroaches are a problem even if your place is clean, slamming doors during the night, they claim theres no parking when theirs plenty of empty parking spots, always shutting the water off and then the water is freezing until the next day so you can’t do dishes or shower. Honestly I would NOT recommend living here unless you have absolutely no choice.

I moved into this building in July with my girlfriend (who is 5 months pregnant) without having a move in inspection. Seen serious amounts of black Mold after we got everything in the unit, in two different spots in the apartment. Leaking pipes. Parking lot is under construction so have to park on the street about a 5 minute walk, and still try to charge us for parking. As per my girlfriends doctor she advised her and me (I am asthmatic) not to stay there until taken care of. We told them about the mold situation when we found out on July 5th. It was not fixed until August 2nd which is when we moved back in. Told us we will not be reimbursed any rent money as it was our choice not to stay there the month it wasn't fixed. Now we are currently taking them to court at the end of September and has been nothing but problems since they got the court papers. Trying to force us to sign a move in inspection which we have declined to do as it should have been done when we moved in. We came home last night at 10pm and went to bed and woke up to them in our unit at 12am, while they thought we were asleep putting notices on the inside of the unit for pest control fees which we never have had Any pest. No notice of them coming to enter the unit (although the law says between 8am-8pm) . So not only have we had black mold and countless of other stress from these people while she is pregnant , now they are breaking and entering in our apartment while we are asleep. I wouldn't tell someone I hate to rent from these people. Stay away!

In one year the rent has increased 4% and for what? Nothing, the place is constantly dirty. What I've seen used tampons outside the building, dog crap in the elevators and the main floor. The elevators never work properly there is always one not working. Don't ever ask for the homestead staff to get something done because it will never be done without some kind of attitude or backlash at the tenant. This place isn't worth the money. Go somewhere else.

If I could give this place negative stars I’d give them so many. Worst building I have ever lived in. The staff and management at head office are complete idiots. The superintendent is rude is disrespectful to his tenants. They are always outside drinking, always drunk and loud. When we moved out we found a tenant to take out unit. We were promised half of our deposit back and when we followed up apparently thr new tenants were denied. No one ever contacted us to let us know this happened. Literally did all the work for the useless people who work there. Our unit was infested with ants, we submitted many noise complaints that were never resolved, people always take your parking spot and they made us pay for temporary parking two buildings away when it was under construction. Stay away from this place. They jack up the rent when it is not worth it. The place is actually a dump. You call them and they don’t call you back. I don’t have one single nice thing to say about Surrey Lane and Homestead as a company.

In short my experience was having been shown the wrong apartment and having to settle. An apartment that was not moving out at the time. Having them forget that I booked the elevator and then being called a liar and sworn at all before I even moved in. If you want anything done you have to email or call upper management and in just one year I had to do this 4 times. And now they are renovating underground parking and tried to still charge me. Relocated parking always has someone else in your spot and they do nothing about it. I would recommend to only people I hate. Also overpriced for being able to hear the neighbours shower.

If I could give no stars I would, the apartment management service running these building are giant bullets that like to pray on small old ladies, scream and harrass special needs people and DO NOT DO THEIR JOBS.My mom needs to use a Walker in order to move around, they DO NOT have handicap access in the basement which is ILLEGAL, and when they were doing construction in the parking lot they moved my moms spot to the OTHER side of the yard.DISGUSTING.I will be calling the police on Dan the superintendent Gina's husband for being a power hungry monger who prays on the old and weak.This is appalling, this head office will NOT do a thing about this. Hopefully the police does.DO NOT RENT OR MOVE HERE.
