After seeing the beautiful pictures of your scenic open patio and lovely menu, our family threw down $100 to take two ferries over from Campbell River to try something new and enjoy ourselves. We will forever regret it, thanks to your horribly rude host. She utterly ruined our day! Are you aware that her nasty demeanour is hurting your business?Your host made us feel like our presence was a complete inconvenience for showing up between lunch and dinner. She literally shoved your limited appetizer menu in our faces to warn us that there wasn't much to eat in a dour and pessimistic way. It was shocking!Nevertheless, our party of 3 came from far away and was willing to try whatever few items you had to offer. However, we made it clear that my wife would not be able to order anything from these limited choices due to allergies. My mother and I informed your host that the two of us would gladly order from the menu, as long as my wife could have a snack from next door, so she didn't feel left out. That's when your host exploded at us, lost her cool, and very loudly shamed us in front of other patrons for thinking we could bring outside food in with us! WTH?We would have spent well over $100 on food and drinks today, but your terrible host chased us away. What a complete waste of time and money!

We boat into the Float house restaurant several times every summer.They give us consistently good service and good food! We were there again today for sunday brunch: yet another good experience, and with a great view. The dock crew are friendly and helpful.Thank you for another good season to all the staff off George harbour resort!

A friend In our party reserved a table for lunch. We were here on July 2nd, a warm day. We were a table of adults and a table of kids. Our server was lovely; very accommodating with getting the kids food out first. We didn’t ask her to. The views were spectacular, and we watched a float plane take off as we waited for our food. The fish tacos are delicious! Would love to try some of the other items on the menu.

Food was really good but we were completely unimpressed by the service. Three different servers (on two occasions) all seemed depressed to be there and completely disinterested in doing more than the bare minimum to get us in and out. What kind of a server walks past your table three times and never even once asks if everything came out okay? Overall, really not worth it.

We never had a chance to eat there. The hostess was rude from the moment we walked up and utterly unaccommodating. We were looking forward to a great meal and drinks on the patio but were greeted by being told lunch was over and only certain appetizers were available from 2:30-4:30. It was said pretty sharply, as if she thought we were idiots for showing up for lunch after 2:30 (the ferry was running really late and we'd just gotten to Cortes). The hostess stuck the appetizer menu in our faces and we weren't offered a seat - we had to decide right there whether we'd eat any of the 5 apps they were offering. Of those 5, only 3 were even an option for me because of food allergies, and the other 2 were not something I would eat. I wanted my husband and mother in law to still get to eat there and enjoy the view and patio, so I offered to go get something from the nearby convenience store and bring it back - just a granola bar. The hostess was very sharp with my mother in law that I could not bring any food back to the table because it's a restaurant. I would normally understand that, but if the two people I'm with are eating $25 appetizers each, maybe you could just let me join my party with my flimsy granola bar instead of having me starve while they eat. I understand kitchen turn over times, but not the lack of hospitality and rudeness. Definitely not the Cortes Island vibe I've come to love. I will not be coming back.

Wow! Amazing food. Amazing service. Amazing restaurant and resort. The view from patio is a gorgeous marina. We will be back. Cleo was our server and helped make our experience incredible and welcoming.

Really wanted to love this place! We were in the area for a few days and stopped here for lunch which was great - our server was so friendly despite it being a super windy day on the patio. Food was good too.The next two times we went, or tried to, one of the managers was hosting and serving us and she was just not pleasant. We felt like an inconvenience to her the entire time we were there and they had some arbitrary rules that make no sense.

5 star on the food was amazing. Service on the other hand was the worst I've seen. Asked 2 waitresses the 1st for a take out menu that seemed annoyed I asked for 1. Then the 2nd waitress when I asked to do a take out order said the wait will be about 40 min and that can't you see whats going on here. Like its my fault the patio was full. A custom is a customer. To be honest If we were not hungry I would have told both them off for their rudeness.Paid for my order and could not bring myself to tip them which is a shame they share the tips with the kitchen.

We were really impressed with Jacob's ability to serve people with care and grace. His relaxed but welcoming attention to all the details made us feel at home. Tasty local seafood, cold drinks and nice views didn't disappoint us either. This place is pretty busy in summer time, reservations highly recommended

Went here twice during our stay on Cortes. Food is amazing, however leaning towards the pricey side for dinner. Breakfast is very good and moderately priced. The two managers that work out of here are not very pleasant to deal with, as they seem like they hate their lives (hard to imagine on Cortes). We asked to switch seats because we were sitting in the hot sun with no shade and one manager told us that they were reserved, although nobody sat there for the duration of our 45 min stay. Some servers here are very nice though. Would recommend for the food but don’t ask the managers to switch seats…or else.
