Sometimes life doesn’t go the way you wish it would. And sometimes, instead of having a clear path to improving your situation, it can seem like all options are less than what you want for yourself and your future. Call it a rut. Call it being lost and confused. Call it wanting to have that cake and eat it too! When I found myself seeing my cake in one direction and the fork in another, I didn’t know what to do. I was frustrated and unhappy, and I felt helpless to do anything about it. I wanted things to be better! I wanted to make positive changes! I want a lot of wonderful things for my future self but had no idea how to make sure life was going to be great for her.A friend of mine went through a company sponsored Executive Coaching session and was raving about how much it helped her. My position didn’t rate that kind of benefit but I was curious enough to sign up for this service on my own. I chose Woosi Wildwood to be my coach.We spent quality time talking over my current situation as well as my hopes and dreams for the future. It is hard to convey how helpful it is to have a great coach guide you through your own thought processes! We talked about cake and forks and eating it and all manner of hopes and dreams. As we talked, things that were fuzzy became clear. Under her careful guidance, I was able to finally decipher what held real importance and what was just ‘on the list of things I generally want’.The value of these coaching sessions was realized the very next time I had a big decision to make. Each choice offered things I wanted and things I didn’t. But this time, instead of thrashing in the negative aspects of the options, I could clearly see which thing offered me the maximum amount of things I really care about! The decision was already made. And for this clarity, I will always be indebted and grateful to Woosi.
