Horn and Collins (Tyler, Mike and Chelsea) redesigned, rebuilt and planted our entire front and side yard over the past year. The design is outstanding, and the consultation and services provided by the company are exemplary.Oscar and Angela have worked with us as gardeners, container designers and plant selectors and provision of landscaping maintenance.Oscar and Angela are outstanding individuals to work with, as we continue to develop our landscaping surrounding our home. We have been fortunate to have both of them weekly since the spring. They work very closely together, and openly discuss design ideas, maintenance issues, and solutions.Oscar is meticulous about yard and plantings maintenance, including notifying us when there are issues, offering suggestions to address the issue, and reporting plant, yard, or irrigation issues to the appropriate people at H & C. He also follows up to ensure issues are addressed. He is warm and friendly in manner, and very efficient in completing the yard maintenance.Angela is outstanding as a container designer, and horticulturalist. She listens carefully to our preferences for “colour” in our containers and her designs and selection of plants are truly spectacular. She consistently advises about container and plant maintenance between her weekly visits, and is willing to discuss and advise about any issues with yard or house plants. We hired Tyler based on a word-of-mouth recommendation from a friend of a friend. We had been looking for a contractor for a couple of years, and had not succeeded in finding someone that fit our criteria...capable, knowledgeable, available, reasonable, able to come up with a plan and estimates that were acceptable. The list was long. Tyler and his crew ( kudos to Chelsea) have exceeded our expectations in every way. Our renovation has included the the demolition and rebuilding of 2 and a half bathrooms, installation of laminate floors in two offices, and the installation of the most beautiful baseboards I have ever seen in all the rooms plus a living room and bedroom. The work has been done with great attention to detail and in a timely fashion. Communication has been a priority of Tyler's and because of this it has been very easy to share" our home with him. We recently renewed our large front and side yards. The work included hard (rocks and exposed aggregate concrete) and soft landscaping (plants, bushes and lawn). Friends for whom they had done an excellent landscaping job recommended Tyler, (Horn and Collins). I needed some help with landscaping, lawn care and had a neighbor refer me to H&C and met Oscar and Angela who did excellent work taking great care of my place. They take the time to make sure a great job is done and always check with me first before doing any extra work that needs to be done. Their fees are very reasonable and honest! If it takes less time they charge me less. Also did a fantastic job on staining my deck and they are available all year round to do lots of different tasks like snow clearing in the winter. In the summer of 2020 our family contracted Harmonic Horticulture and Construction to completely redesign and then rebuild our backyard. It was a huge project involving removal of large trees, shrubs and lawn, as well as moving earth, regrading and removing old concrete and sheds. The rebuild involved retaining walls, new concrete pours, creating plant beds including a fountain, building new fences, a large shed, a unique trellis structure around a hot tub, and gates. Of course, it also included bringing in new trees, shrubs and an assortment of other plants.What can we say about Tyler and his team? We were very, very please with the work! Tyler is delightful to work with. We are continuing to use his team this year for more minor projects and have already highly recommended his services to several other families. Firstly, Tyler took a seemingly endless amount of time with us in the winter before the project started to walk us through his plans and suggestions and continued to work and re-work those plans all the way through - we never felt rushed. Secondly, Tyler is very creative in the design process and his passion comes through in his suggestions for features and in the selection of plants, always keeping an eye on the big picture. Thirdly, he is extremely responsive, whether to feedback from us as the project evolved and as our own ideas changed or with respect to unexpected obstacles that were bound to arise in a project of this size and scope. Fourthly, Tyler's team was extremely professional and respectful of our family's privacy. This extended to everyone involved in the work and over the course of the summer we got to know everyone on the crew on a personal level. We did not witness any discord between Tyler and team. At the close of every day the site was always tidied up. In the event of poor weather during the week, Tyler and team would work on weekends if needed and if ok'ed by us. Finally, Tyler himself is simply a very personable and honest operator who is easy to interact with.Overall, the work from beginning to end was conducted to highest of standards by an exceptional team whom we would hire again in a heartbeat and have already recommended to others.
