This is where you register and pay to hike to Cape Scott, and also leave your vehicle for a day trip to San Josef Bay or longer trip to Cape Scott or the North Coast Trail. The parking lot is huge but we can see it overflowing onto the road on busy days.

Horrible road to get here but also very beautiful. The parking lot was almost full when I arrived. Very active place. My goal was San Josef Bay, a six km hike in and we'll worth the effort

Be prepared for an intense drive to get to this parking lot. Make sure your tires are up to par and that your suspension is solid. It's a rough drive for the average car but any newish car should handle it easily. Just be sure to get out of the way of the logging trucks.
