We did the Suspension Bridge Portion at Senkiw. Nice little hike, family and dog friendly. Would recommend as a fun trip out for a morning.

Crow wing trail
A great place to enjoy a shorter, scenic hike! Less than 4 km return, with scenic views, especially from the historic Senkiw Suspension Bridge.

Crow wing trail
Really authentic swinging bridge, very cool to see. Some walking beside a field with no shade, some forest trail - tons of poison ivy on the edges of the trail! A very broken wooden bridge along the trail, but not a problem this dry year, we were able to just walk beside it.

I hiked this trail on July 23, 2022. The trail has two access points on either side of the river, and I began from the north side along Senkiw Road. From here, the trail leads through forest and then a farmer’s field before re-entering the forest and arriving at the swinging bridge. There were some muddy and wet spots in the forested section. The swinging bridge over the Roseau River was super cool to cross! There’s an interesting history about why the bridge was built back in 1946 which can be found on a plaque at the north trailhead. The views were gorgeous from the bridge. I liked seeing the old metal pulley system on the other side of the bridge. I also loved seeing a wide variety of wildflowers along the trail. From the bridge, the trail continued a short ways to a gravel road where the other access point is. There were some picnic shelters there as well. The forested sections were really pretty and peaceful along the trail. I enjoyed checking out this lesser known trail and bridge!
