Black Creek Park

I am very conflicted when I comes to this trail. The location is beautiful, it is close to the town centre, it is loved, and well maintained. I have been coming here for years and have observed the overall development. I understand from the plethora of signs that there is an effort to make the trail more comfortable(?) for an autistic individual. It started fairly mild and the informative signs were interesting, but over time the natural beauty of this trail has been overshadowed and consumed by all the “junk” that has been added.I often carry a bag with me to pick-up garbage and restore nature while I hike. On this trail I am sure most of the garbage has been intentionally added. My bag would be full in minutes and my cleaning probably would t be appreciated by the individuals who placed the items.I am very happy that the top western branch has been mostly left with its natural beauty intact and hope it remains that way. I will continue to hike here, but it is not a relaxing escape into nature that it once used to be.

Beautiful spot. Picnic tables. Nice trails. Well maintained.
