Sylvan Learning of Oakville Ontario

My two children have been attending Slyvan for a few years now. I have seen the confidence in them blossom during this time. Sylvan does an amazing job with their assessments. They clearly let the parents know where the gaps our in our children's learning and making a plan to fill those gaps. This summer we switched to the online tutoring and it is amazing. Teachers have all been friendly and engaging with my children. For me, I feel safer having them work one on one at home through zoom with the tutor. I am proud of the progress that both kids have achieved thus off. Definitely an A+!!!

My oldest son, a five year old, has had the pleasure of attending Sylvan this summer. I enrolled him in Sylvan to avoid the 'brain drain' that may occur in the summer months for some students. Since he was finished kindergarten now, I was also concerned about the higher expectations that he would encounter going into grade one.Prior to him starting Sylvan, I was concerned that he would not enjoy it, that he would think it was 'work.' Well, so far my child has enjoyed Sylvan. The teachers and directors at Sylvan were conscientious to ensure that his curriculum was challenging enough to keep him engaged, but not so challenging that he refused to do it out of frustration. Playing a game with the other students for a few minutes at the end of each session helps too!The teachers and directors are lovely people to talk to, and are flexible with scheduling sessions and feedback interviews. I like to receive feedback about how my child is progressing, and they are always happy to set some time aside to do that.All summer long while I have visited Sylvan, I've seen my child sitting nicely with a pencil in hand and concentrating. Getting a five year old boy to do that is by no means an easy task (at least not in my world).For these reasons, I would highly recommend Sylvan to any parent who wishes to provide additional academic help for their child.

I find the staff always friendly, polite and enthusiastic and the location is always kept very clean. I like the fact that they assess your child to determine their strengths and weaknesses and then build a customized system from here.It didn't take long before I could see positive changes in my children's academic progress as well as their confidence. They were able to pick up skill sets, tips and tricks that they can transfer to their school environment, and best of all, they enjoy their time at Sylvan.I would highly recommend Sylvan for parents looking for a tutoring system that works. I was pleasantly surprised when I realized their pricing is in-line with other tutoring companies, but it's their process, their staff and their environment that truly allows my children to excel.

My 13 year old has been attending Sylvan for the last 6 months to enrich her writing skills and mechanics. When we first went for a diagnostic test and to discuss how Sylvan could help, I was very impressed with the description of the services and the personalized program recommended by Jenn. My daughter has been flourishing under the extra attention and remains motivated to continue on in the program. She enjoys all of her teachers and views her sessions as an extra-curricular activity designed to give her more confidence. When I gave her the opportunity to take a break at the start of the new school year that idea was flatly rejected!

We tried Sylvan based on a friend's recommendation. Her daughter was struggling with math and found major improvements after joining Sylvan. I was a little unsure at first, to be honest but after meeting Tara and Amy I felt my questions had been answered and they worked around our schedule, our budget and most importanly my daughter's learning styles. We've seen a huge improvement in her self-confidence and willingness to try. She doesn't see math as a monster anymore! She says she has the strategies to figure things out. We've been part of Sylvan Oakville for a year now and will continue on because we've seen the results. It's really stressful as a parent to try to teach your child something when you don't know where they need the help. The teachers really figure out where your child got lost along the way and then remedy it so they can catch up, keep up and then excel ahead. I really appreciate that they work with our school and teachers to ensure the learning is reflective of what's being taught at school. This way our daughter than apply what she learns at Sylvan directly. It's worth a try!

Sylvan Oakville has been an amazing learning support for my boys. We have been going to the centre for about a year and they have been very accommodating and inclusive. The directors change my boys lessons as per my request and many times with very short notice in order to meet the needs of my children and compliment the learning in the classroom. Both my boys have increased self esteem and marks due to the wonderful educators who are very supportive and encouraging. Thank you to Sylvan Oakville.

We have been going to Sylvan for the past 5 years. When I brought my first child at the age of 5, they identified him immediately as advanced and customized a learning program just for him. They routinely review his progress with me and continuously change the program to keep him engaged and challenged without being too boring. My son is now 10 years old and has nothing but positive feedback about the staff and the material that he has learned at Sylvan. My daughter who just started there is already showing signs of improvement in her academic progress. I will highly recommend Sylvan as the staff are amazing and they truly want the children to progress in their program through immediate feedback and customized learning. It is not just a standard book approach.

Sylvan has been a saviour for my son. My son was at a Grade 4 reading comprehension level before starting the program at Sylvan. My son attended Sylvan 3 times a week and with the great help of the teachers my son was able to get caught up and advance with the Sylvan program, within 1 year. My son is in high school and continues to seek help and guidance with his school work with Sylvan. Sylvan has helped my son become more confident in school, want to achieve good grades and a more analytical thinker. The staff is understanding, adapts to your child's needs and caring. The teachers all exemply the patience needed to help a child succeed academically. Thank you

We only have good things to say about Sylvan (Oakville). They helped our first child with reading and she went from a grade D+ before we started Sylvan to an A in less than 2 years while doing virtual sessions during the pandemic. She says she loves being with Sylvan because they “helped me get more confident with reading. And they are fun”. Our second child (kindergarten age) is also working with them and is enjoying it - learning letter sounds and now putting these together to form words. But aside from the academics, the team at Sylvan is extremely easy to talk to and have demonstrated their flexibility to operate virtually and in-person. They also have a good handle on how the kids are doing and are open to working with the parents and recommending adjustments if it will benefit the kids - we are a team working together to help the kids. I have already recommended friends to the program!

Our daughter has been enrolled at Sylvan for over a year and she LOVES it! Her reading and writing skills have improved dramatically. She continues to improve with every session. She looks forward to going because the teachers are all fantastic. Keep up the great work Sylvan!
