Lovely little store with everything you need for all your plants. Staff are friendly and love that they are dog friendly.

They have a nice selection of perennial plants with a mixture of annual thrown in. Love the chalk drawings in the sidewalk and pavement. The staff was very friendly and polite. Well laid out path in outdoor garden center, avoids 2 way traffic.

Good store. Bad hours. Closes early at 4pm Saturdays. No evening hours. Wish they would stay open until at least an evening weekday or 5/6pm weekends in May/June. :(

Good selection. Bad customer service.No staff mentioned when I left my plants outside and told them I was going in the shop, that they were closing in 5 minutes. Why not mention that? I told them I was going to the store, and the staff just kept chatting amongst themselves.I found out they were 2 minutes to close when they were loudly talking on the walk-in talkie trying to figure out who’s plants were outside. Then, in front of at least 6 staff members I told them the items outside were mine. This was so uncomfortable for me, and unnecessary. Why not politely tell your customers that you are 5 minutes to close?This is the second time this has happened. Just talk to you customers. We don’t bite.

Really disappointed by the lack of accessibility. Stairs are the only way into the building despite abundant space for a ramp. To top that off, once we carried our equipment up the stairs and into the store, we were greeted by an accessible sign and an automatic door opener, which honestly felt like a mean joke at that point. The only way to get to the plants outdoors was another set of stairs.

What's not to love about this beautiful spot. Where we buy all our seeds and seedlings. Well grown, nothing dies,no bugs, the people are very helpful and kind. They are very close to home which is a bonus, however,I would not go anywhere else. You can trust HSC, and the people not to steer you wrong. Lots of expertise even for those who garden a lot. I always learn something new. Sometimes the phone line is busy as they are busy with customers. Always worth a look and excellent prices! Highly recommend.

Great shop, great service, great variety of all you might need for your yard and garden, but unfortunately poor parking, so go there when it's not busy!

I was very excited to visit Halifax Seed for the first time. Beware that this shop is not at all accessibility-friendly. I went in hopes of purchasing a small bag of grass seed, however I cannot get up stairs. I asked if someone could grab me a bag of grass seed from inside so I could pay for it at the outside cash register where I was at and they said no. I want to assume positive intent that maybe it was a safety concern for staff carrying anything down the stairs rather than bad customer service.

That is one of the best nursery in Halifax; I believe. I always could find what I need for the garden. Love their mushroom kits. And finally! They have Bay Trees now!!!

Purchased seeds online. One packet of seeds was empty. Three other packets had 5 seeds in it. I emailed them about the issue and never got a reply.Obviously zero quality assurance done. How can a packet of seeds be sealed empty? I could tell before I opened the pack that it was empty.
