Gateway Restaurant and Bakery
I came here for breakfast and was very impressed with this place. It looks unassuming but the quality of the food is amazing and everything was perfectly cooked. I had the western breakfast sandwich with hash browns and my partner had the classic breakfast. We were both taken away by just how good (and affordable) our food was. The coffee was also great and everything came out quick, which was good because we wanted to hit the trails. I also liked supporting a smaller business. I would go here again in a heartbeat, and having tried most restaurants in town can confidently say this is my favourite.

Good location, parking and seating are limited. Good fast and corteous service. By far the best restaurant in town. Prices are good too. Outdoor seating available. Good coffee (they have a barista) and a wonderful selection of baked desserts.

They have good selection of baked goods. I loved my breakfast here, nice fluffy omlette with huge options for fillings. Their coffee is on point. Great place to grab and watch the boats in the marina. The owner has a dry sense of humour which was amusing on a cold day

Gateway Restaurant and Bakery
I stopped in at Gateway while walking around town. The bakery is small, but offers a good selection of breakfast and lunch offerings. It was busy when I was there. I had a delicious cookie and an iced Hazelnut Latte which was very good. There is seating both inside and outside. There are attached restrooms. It is walkable from the local restort. I would certainly return if I were in town again.

Local bakery and restaurant. Fritters are soooo good! Good breakfast and lunch options, treat you well and make great lunches to go for boating. Good morning coffee options. Lovely people!

Such a cute atmosphere and amazing service. The food is so delicious, highly recommend checking this place out, go early to get the best sweet treats. The butter tarts are simply amazing. Breakfast is so worth it, all around this place is a must go!

5th time to Killarney but first time here. Apparently re-opened in 2019. This place is a gem. We stayed at the Killarney Mountain Lodge and dropped $110 for a family of 4 the first night. The Gateway have triple the options was 40% of the cost. The food was great. The BLT for $6.95 was filling. This will be my go-to for the next time. The gentleman at the counter, owner, fantastic. Sensitive to food allergies and ailments. Great work all. So eat here if you want to save money.

We got to know most of the staff including the owners, and service was excellent - extremely hospitable - no face-mask nonsense for diners (a HUGE plus), and of course - EXCELLENT quality food with affordable price point (especially considering quality and quantity of food served). Their (high-quality) steak sandwich is highly recommended and easily exceeds numerous other sandwich places in terms of quality and quantity, and they also make and serve excellent breakfasts (eggs made with love). On a dollar-for-dollar and quality basis, you're way better off eating here than at the Lodge (no offence - the Lodge is expensive, that's all) or the fish-and-chips place (questionable portions on price point). The portions here are between sufficient / proper to generous, and it's as close as you're going to get to a proper home-cooked meal in a restaurant. Make this your first choice in terms of dining in Killarney - it's the most affordable and you're guaranteed to have an excellent meal each time.
