First and foremost, I love the book cover that Andrea designed. She presented three original options, and the final version ended up being a modification of one of those originals. What was unexpectedly delightful was how Andrea provided graphics that I could post on social media in order to get feedback form my network. Aside from actually getting feedback, it was a great way to create some early buzz. People love to offer opinions!Andrea also designed my interior. She presented some options, including bespoke design and off-the-shelf options. I chose an off-the-shelf option because it was less expensive and (mostly) fit my needs. Andrea did a fantastic job and even found some creative workarounds for a few of the graphics I wanted to include. Could I have done this myself? Yes. But it would have taken 10x longer and probably 20x more frustration.Finally, I really appreciated Andrea’s boundaries regarding scope of work and timelines. She’s very flexible, but also quite clear on what is included and what would need to be an additional contract. This was very helpful to a newbie like me because I felt like I could ask any question without concern that I was overstepping our agreement. If it was a reasonable ask, she’d do it. If it was a bigger ask, then she would provide some options and prices to match.Finally – and this is important – Andrea gets the “big picture” of self-publishing, which is so helpful for novice clients like me. She is a terrific designer but also a terrific self-publishing partner.I look forward to our next collaboration.

Andrea designed the book cover and interior pages for both the English version and French version of my client's debut nonfiction book, launching soon.
