Consulate General of Brazil in Montreal

It's a government bureaucratic institution so don't expect fast and friendly service. I got decent service when applying for a visa. I did all my research well in advance and took plenty of time to complete my application perfectly. I had no problems. Others at the consulate did not do the same and were rightfully given attitude and a slight of hand. PEOPLE: when completing government forms, do it right and don't bother debating with the bureaucrat about why special rules apply to you.

worst consulate i have ever witnessed in my entire life. no one is there to actually help. i have gone back and forth 5 times to renew my passport. completely unfriendly towards brazilian citizens who do not speak properly portuguese. will not be renewing my passport because no one is capable of helping me with documents i need. it’s like a ping pong game. they tell me to acquire 1 document to complete my renewal but later on tell me I require an additional document. sending links that don’t work. WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY.

Took my mom for a scheduled appointment to drop off some documents. We were served promptly and wrapped our business just as fast.The consulate (on the 17th floor) is obvious to find, buzz to be let in.

If you need services from this consulate load up your patience reserves to the max. Bureaucracy and delays are the hallmarks of this place. They offer no sympathy for their customers and they strive in being arrogant and non-informative. I needed a simple service from them that resulted in a single paragraph printed in less than a quarter of a page and a big stamp occupying another quarter. It took over THREE weeks for them to prepare and another half-an-hour waiting for it to be sign once I was there to pick it up. This document needed to be sent by post to the Brazilian government and they had no clue where it was to be sent to, as if this was the first time this service being provided.Shameful service, typical of arrogant bureaucrats.

Great service! Very helpful staff. I was surprised by the quality of the service. I lived for 29 years in Brazil and I have never seen a public organization like this. Congratulations!
