Hastings And Prince Edward Counties Health Unit

This is a useless health unit which continues to fail to protect seniors in Long Term Care. Due to their failed policies, I predicted an outbreak at the Belleville LTC my mother resides in. My prediction came true two weeks later (August 2022) with my mother going to hospital with covid. Sadly, 3 residents died. The Health Unit has now resumed allowing the same conduct to continue which resulted in the covid outbreak. The staff at Hastings Prince Edward Health now refuses to respond to my e mails or phone calls. Perhaps this is part of the government's plan to free up beds in LTC in Ontario. It is little wonder that many seniors are now choosing to get put down like a dog as opposed to navigating the failed LTC system in Ontario.

Been here a few times better help then other places

The Covid 19 form repeatedly said that the form had “been tampered with” at the end of input and hence it was impossible to reserve an appointment.As far as the phone method went, I waited at least 45 minutes while listening to the SAME music over and over again until I accidentally disconnected.

I called this location for help along my breastfeeding journey and was connected to a wonderful lady name Sandy, the lactation consultant. She was knowledgeable, compassionate and so kind. Excatly what I needed as a new mom. I am so greatful for her support.

My Daughter went in today at 12:30 to get records of needles, she called me had questions I couldn’t answer, I said go back in and ask, I’m sure they could help you in the right direction, she went back to her car, called me crying, she is overwhelmed and the rudeness wasn’t called for at the front desk, do better!!!!!

Such a horrible service from this public health. Waiting for my RTPCR test result for long time. Usually most of all parts of the world the result will be available in 8 to 12 hours and its more than 24 hrs now and no call from the public health yet. Called the assesment center and informed me to wait for the call from public health and it might take 1 to 3 days ???? Really?? ?? Dont know what kind of health service I am getting in canada even in this pandemic season. So pathetic... This type of health care system need to look around the other health care systems around the world and should understand how they are giving health care services during this pandemic promptly and timely manner.

I have had many less than favourable experiences with medical services in the past so it was an amazingly unexpected surprise to visit the Hastings and Prince Edwards Counties Health Unit in Belleville. The facility is brand new, very clean and comfortable, the wait times were no longer than ten minutes either time I went (which I will add is excellent for a city like Belleville considering the lack of health services available) and the nurse I had was kind, sweet, comforting and more understanding than I could ever ask for. In a time when it is important to take charge of your own health and advocate for yourself in the medical office, this Health Unit is a place in which you can feel safe and comfortable and that you truly have health care professionals looking out for your best interest. Thank you for an amazing experience, I plan to take advantage of this service as much as I can.
