I did considerable research and obtained several quotes before selecting a company to pave my driveway., I decided on Black Tar, Remi, the Senior Project Estimator, took the time to explain everything, he was very knowledgeable, did not pressure us, I was sold on Black Tar. Their pricing was not the cheapest, but in my experience, you get you pay for! So we went ahead with Black Tar to pave our driveway and did a fantastic job. They were very professional and very clean and courteous. . Would definitely recommend them to anyone needing a great job done. Taif ( the owner) was an amazing person to talk to and was on site during the process. Thank you very much to the team that was here to do a fantastic job.Professional, friendly and reliable. Would definitely recommend!

1 year update The amount of weeds growing out of the driveway is absolutely ridiculous this company claims to excavate when clearly they do NOT there's so much damage to the asphalt from the weeds we now have to call another company to come rip up the driveway and do the job properly as stated in my previous review and other customers reviews do not waste your hard earearn money on a company like thisWarning DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY I would leave a 0 star if possible save your money Blacktar are nothing but a bunch of rip off Artist they charge for excavation that they don't do they use garbage materials and way over charge I have weeds growing out of my driveway 2 weeks after it was paved thr finished look is horrible most of these 5 star reviews are fake Save your hard earned money and find a better company Ramy is a horrible business owner that only cares about his pocketThanks for your response glad to see you still lie and try and make yourselves look good seeing how I've only ever used 1 other contractor that did an amazing job and was paid in full keep fishing lolThe pictures attached to this review shows the garbage work blacktar does you're not a 5 star company you do not handle yourselves as professionals nore do you offer quality workBlacktar is nothing but a scam I'm glad you decided to respond so this review stays at the top you can buy all the fake 5 star reviews you want it's now public knowledge what a horrible company Blacktar is

I am extremely impressed with Black Tar, I recently hired them to repave my driveway. From start to finish, they exceeded all of my expectations. The project was completed on time, within budget, and with exceptional attention to detail.The team was professional, knowledgeable, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure that the job was done right. They were also very communicative, keeping me informed every step of the way and addressing any concerns I had promptly.Their commitment to quality is unmatched. BlackTar replaced the drive and curbs for the apartment where I live - 211 Wurtemburg. The paving seems OK, but the curbs they installed look amateurish. Hence 2 stars.- there are waves in the curb height;- there’s bubbling on the curb sides;- very poor trowel work on the edge and top- installed one side too low, and so needed to add an additional 6”.Suggest visiting the apartment, if you’re considering them to do concrete work.

Update - August 2021:I had Black Tar seal my driveway which was paved in 2019. The sealing went very well with Adbul fixing several small cracks that had developed close to tree roots. The result is great!My only recommendation for improvement would be for Black Tar to more clearly communicate when their clients sealing appointments are scheduled. Their system only notifies you several days before your appointment is scheduled as it can change to to weather. I would prefer that a tentative date be set, with updates sent via e-mail as required.Original Review:Black Tar recently repaved my long driveway in Ottawa. Overall the entire process went very well. An initial quote was completed very quickly and I appreciated having a detailed description of the work that would be completed. The cost was also significantly less than quotes from other contractors.The paving itself went smoothly. Black Tar confirmed all of the work I wanted completed and updated me as the work was being done. All of the old asphalt was removed and a new gravel bed was laid and compacted. Then, the new asphalt was put down. Once finished they gave me specific instructions for how to care for the new asphalt. The new driveway turned out very well and is a huge improvement over the old one. I'd happily recommend Black Tar to anyone looking to complete paving work.

I am very impressed with the entire project. Peel and pave. It was bit of money but considering the facing of home, sun light during winter time, water pools, frozen ice, I need to redo entire drive way to have proper slope. Grant was my quality specialist. Entire paving crew knew their work and they explained every aspect of the project.Only thing that I don’t like is disconnected communication from customer service team and internal teams who execute the project. I need to follow up over phone to get things sorted out. CIGO tracker shows real time information about the crew.

Black Tar was very well priced and efficient. I was pleased with the asphalt work done by their paving team. Their excavation team was friendly and professional as well. It’s nice to see a contractor that has the operations in order.

I feel this company went beyond my expectations. From the initial visit and estimate I received there was no pressure to sign up and they answered all my questions very quickly making it easy to decide this was a very reputable company.They were proactive and did the work far earlier than I expected. From the office staff to the foreman I found everyone to be very helpful and courteous. The entire crew that came to my house made me feel very comfortable and the service was amazing.
