Status Barber Shop

Even if I had received a great haircut here, I wouldn't give it 5 stars. I think they charge around $42 for a mens cut and then prompt for tip / tax, so it's about $50 plus for the cut. The young lady that cut my hair seemed to suffer from depth perception issues and a lack of familiarity with the concept of symmetry. The ambience is ridiculous and super pretentious and the general vibe is ostentatious. If you're into getting gouged because they have an online booking system, more power to you. The one thing you need to do is actually provide a decent haircut if you're charging this much with a backdrop this preposterous. I assume it's no secret I won't be going back, but if you want just a basic haircut, there must be 20 other places you can go that will charge half and at least know how to balance length from left to right. If you don't want to pay extra to listen to cool" music and have your haircut in a place that smells like axe body spray

Moved to Victoria last September and have been looking for a new barber that I know I can trust.Booked an appointment with Keaton to see how things would go and I am beyond happy with the haircut I received as well as the friendly service I had throughout. I am already looking forward to my next haircut and will be looking to book with Keaton again, and for the foreseeable future!

Stephanie Dube is THE BEST! She never disappoints. Also, Tbone is always welcoming, and after every haircut, he ALWAYS thanks me for coming and wishes me a good day. The atmosphere is chill, the music is always awesome, sports on the TV. All you need is a whiskey, and you're set!I will never go anywhere else.

Best shop in Vic! Troy is super dope and gives clean haircuts with precision and technique, the rest of the gang is pretty sick as well and the atmosphere in the shop is amazing. Definitely would recommend heading here for your next haircut

Status is not only the best barber shop in town, the staff there are second to none. I have never had a bad hair cut (even though I am bald and get my head shaved right down, you would be surprised at the amount of times there have been patches left behind by other shops) Rayne always makes me look sharp with a beard trim because we cant all line ourselves up! Troy the owner is an absolute legend and always makes you feel welcome and appreciated in his shop. No wonder they are consistently voted as #1 in town!!

I booked a cut with Zoe at status after 6 months of living in Victoria, and being afraid to see any other barber; I have a pretty funky type of curly hair that has resulted in me being done dirty by other barbershop locations a number of times.Zoe did NOT do me dirty at all, and gave me one of the best haircuts I have had in a long while. She is a very talented stylist, meticulous & precise. Looking around the shop, you could tell there was a lot of talent in there and the vibes were immaculate - you can tell the staff feel at home there, and so do the customers. Recently moved to Victoria last year and was struggling to find a quality African American shop that can actually cut hair and these guys didn’t disappoint! Awesome atmosphere, the most down to earth ownership, with second to none service! Appointment based so that your time isn’t wasting sitting around, recommendations on what style suits you, with the patience to ensure you’re satisfied with the end result! If you want a great barbershop experience, this is definitely the place. The owner and staff are very professional, and they make sure you get the exact haircut or hairstyle you are looking for in a great environment. Once you go there, you will never want to get your hair done anywhere else!!!
