YWCA Hamilton

A few years ago I started going there, and was the best experience ever. Equipment is ok but the workers that were there were the top notch. I went there not only to lose weight but it actually cleared my mental mind. It was an oasis for me. I loved every minute of it. Any of the staff were there to help you at all times. Some of the staff were knowledgeable in mental illness. They were trained well because the ones I spoke with actually helped me. It absolutely sucks that this place is not a safe place I go to anymore. They closed . Most of all it kept my mind clear, better than any medication I've been on in my 40 something years. I am so upset and devastated that this place is not open for us anymore. My life is destroyed again but if you guys open up again that would be the best thing to ever happen to me and I'm sure so many other woman an hour community.

Absolutely the worst and trauma inducing shelter Hamilton has currently. That's just my opinion they don't care and they say one thing and do another..I can't stand shady behavior

Filthy, disgusting site. If they moved, the entire area would improve dramatically. No regard for the squalor and crime that they attract to the area and no shame shown by their slovenly employees smoking out front of the building. Their once-great Senior's Active Living Centre is now three tables in an exercise room in the basement. They have a lot of nerve to invite vulnerable seniors to this urban dystopia they've created downtown. It's a disgrace.

Shy managers are allowing thus stuff to go on is beyond me but city did take it over and maybe they are covering up the stuff that has been going on because other women throwing dmokes lite butts put window on the child care plat ground znd covered up as should of been dismissal asap with that one along with smoke alarm goungboff forc12 minutes when there was a Dore and couldn't get out as elevators shut down with fire alarms going off and firecesscape door to stairs were locked because women left lite candle on her bed and keft!all could of died . So maybe funding would stop and go back to like the nensvY as they can stay as long as they pay there rent and don't do things their not supposed to dhy thus is only year program znd bscknonto streets well there are 3 eomens shelters that hold 1/2of the women compared to men's shelters where there are 5.-6 and hold 2 1/2 more men us women and why this is only a year and then get out???where the revisit enough rent controlled apartments so we go back to tests and getting beat up and ripped and all our stuff stolen!SO please find put why this stuff is allowed when we have a editing list so long and eomen rooms are supposed to pass room inspections and there are cat least 5 I know of you can't get in the door and they stay out in a tent because can't get to their single bed!and in 7 months has never oassed so why are they are allowed to just put dumpster items they collect and Porta potties in their room is beyond any worldly thing o can think of and shy managers allow what's going on on here it's just a shotshow!!please help us good women!!!

This was a terrible place to work. Over run with Mice. Poor management who have no consideration for confidentiality of staff. I worked at CAP and there was very little direction or support from management. Many of the women accessing CAP were treated with such disrespect. Especially women of color or indigenous. Too much discrimination for me

I especially love this place because it is dedicated to serving women and the elderly, great! I fell in love with the RANA coaching staff since last Friday, and there is an hour-long free course this Friday at 12:00～1:00time

Helping Hamiltons homeless women with Carol Ann’s Place aka the CAP program.Many necessities, amenities, and services available to women in need.

YWCA Employment opportunities program is a joke. Staff Trystan, Rebecka and Deborah are no help at all. They promise work experience will be provided as part of the program but don't deliver. They insist people on ODSP do daily zoom meetings for ridiculous workshops. When you try to explain that being on ODSP you cant afford to pay for that much internet, they don't seem to care. No flexibility in how their workshops are done. ( ie. Do them in person or some other way). They just tell you to look elsewhere for employment help.They're basically like all the other employment providers. They get paid by the government to help people and do nothing to earn that pay.
