Calgary Climbing Centre Rocky Mountain

I've been a few times now. First we went to the climb park to get a feel for it, very friendly staff very quick to get you started with your climb.always willing to answer any questions we had. Second trip here it was with a group of six of us for a beginner belay course, it was a great course lots of knowledge provided. Tons of hands on experience as well as all the extra climbing time afterwards with your group.

The reason for my low rating is the ridiculous initiation fee you have to pay if you sign up for ongoing monthly membership. It is $120 after taxes and it feels like a punch in the face because nowhere else in the country is there such a fee. I lived in BC and climbed in many places there, grew up in Ontario where the same is true so one has to wonder, how do you justify charging $120?Besides the complete ripoff the facility is very nice, spacious but the actual gym equipment (weights, bike) is very limited and the space is quite small as well. All in all, it's a nice gym centre but the initiation fee does leave a bad taste in your mouth. There is a 10x passes that works out to about $20 per drop or the $22 drop in fee.

This gym ‘ticks all boxes’. Boulder, top rope and lead, a great kids section, moon board galore and a coffee and climbing shop.

Great climbing walls, variety of difficulties and challenges. Very big center with high walls, curves. The kids section is amazing looks like so much fun.$22 for a visit.Sells supplies of rock climbing gear and clothing.Even has a beer tap for an after workout drink with a little patio to enjoy.

Great place to go climbing, with some of the tallest walls in Calgary. Often gets very busy evenings and weekends

Top of the line centre thatvis open year round for all levels climbers! This Centre blows away the U of C climbing wall! It is massive and well tought out here.Did you know that this place is popular for kid's Birthday parties? The kids get to climb for an hour and then eat their cake and have a celebration in a private party room for about 45 minutes. The staff are so accommodating to the kids too.There is a surprising amount of parking here too so no worries once you make your way through the winding road to get here.

Gym is awesome with a huge wall and tons of bouldering. The staff are all very friendly and super helpful! Only complaint is it is way to hot during the summer. Start sweating as soon as you walk in the building- Better AC would be nice!

This is a spectacular place to spend some time with the family or friends to stay fit and enjoy an incredibly energized atmosphere.My only recommendation would be to make sure you use GPS to get there as there’s if you wind the roads that might be confusing if you’re not familiar with the area.

For our first visit, we hosted the birthday party for my twin daughters!The kids ClimbPark was amazing! The walls were super fun, some featuring built in games (setting out fires in a building like a firefighter, timing you, etc). For the group of 11 climbers, it was fun for experienced and new climbers.The party room (Gorilla in our case) was spacious, lots of light and a sink and fridge. It was also located right beside the kids area.We'll definitely be going back as a family!
