Treated my right eye after a traumatic accident. 20 years later, I write this review

Very professional staff and all my appointment was on time,Dr. Martow was courteous and took his time to explain the procedures to me. I am giving a 5 star review.

I'm very upset with his staff Emily. I felt discriminated. She complained how I always reschedule my appointments. I explained to the clinic 2 times because of my illness MS, my functionality is hard to predict whether I can come in to the clinic. I understand you have to lots of patients and appointments. But I did not choose my illness and I did not want to reschedule my appointments. I do try my best to attend but when I can't even function, then I cant. At least I always call in and reschedule my appointment instead of no show. They need to understand patients situation more. If MS patients are not welcomed in this clinic please let them know ahead. So we won't waste each other's time

How can possibly people leave bad reviews on Dr. Martow! Come on guys, if you need a nice conversation you can go to any retailer or a poetry course.However, if you do have an eye problem Jeff is the best doctor to solve it.I am his patient for more than a decade. I had cataracts surgery with him. He made a laser treatment for my eyes.Both gave an excellent results with no after surgery complications.Thanks to him I can see the world differently, better than in my early years.Since I have had my surgery with him all my family members became his patients as well.And I appreciate that at my appointments with him he doesn’t waste either his or my time on senseless and polite bla-bla-bla but rather gives me a valuable info as to my eyes health and vision as well as answering all my questions and concerns.For the last reviewer specifically, as to the eyes problems Dr. Martow is definitely better than you or me. That’s why we are coming to his office but not otherwise.Not only Dr. Martow himself is an excellent optometrist and eye surgeon he has an excellent team in his office as well as the most updated equipment.I believe, it’s important to know that he makes his eye surgeries not in his medical office but at Markham-Stouffville Hospital that adds more comfort and safety to his patients.Generally it takes years to find a good health specialist.And I am so happy I got the referral to Dr. Martow more than ten years ago. He is an excellent eye doctor and I would recommend him to anybody with a serious eye problem.

Just had cataract surgery and it went so well. Dr Martow answers all my questions and is brief and reassuring. I wish the clinic staff was more clear about the process and information about my surgery as I had to email them after month and a half of not hearing anything. Kristi and Emily were lovely and was very helpful in booking my surgeries Pre-op appointments are done at the Markham office. I got the IOL master test done. The drop schedule is very important to ease any discomfort postoperatively. NYGH staff were also so great and helpful at keeping me comfortable during the surgery.

급성으로 백내장이 와서 수술 받았는데 아주 잘 됐어요. 궁금한 것이 있으면 친절하게 잘 대답해주어서 정말 좋았어요. 일하시는 직원들도 친절하고 세심해서 정말 좋았네요. 병원 가는거 싫어하는데 이곳만은 좋네요..

I didn't come to this location to see Doctor Martow but to see another Opthalmologist. Here is my bad experience going to this location:The two Chinese ladies were so rude and I knew that they were Chinese because one of them told me that they were Chinese.Did not expect to ask questions and got a proper explanation and it was all one way communication. If you called them, there was a message that if it's not urgent or important they suggested you write an email. I tried it and waited for a few days, I did not get any reply yet from the right person who was supposed to answer the email.Another unpleasant experience was that after I was done seeing the doctor, I went to the receptionist and one that Chinese ladies gave me documents for my cataract surgery and asked me to read and to sign them. I was instantly startled and thought that if this Chinese lady knew what she was asking me?She worked in an Opthalmologist office and how come she did not know what happened to someone's eyes after being dilated?How could you ask someone to read with blurry vision after dilation?I asked her politely if I could bring the documents home and signed them and brought them back on my next appointment since the surgery would be in the third week of April and now it was only the first week of March and she said no and you must sign it right now. Before the conversation ended, the other rude Chinese lady abruptly jumped into conversation and put pressure on me to sign them. The situation almost got into confrontation and luckily the other lady asked her manager and finally the manager allowed me to bring the documents home. I was just thinking is it legal to force someone to sign the documents with blurry vision conditions?Is it legal to force someone to sign the documents without giving him or her a chance to read?I went home with a nasty feeling and asked myself where am I living right now? In a dictatorship country?I really hope that the management would see this review and stop hiring rude, unprofessional and lack of customer service skills employees like these two Chinese ladies.Updates: After talking through the phone, I also found out that even the office manager has the same quality of rudeness with those two Chinese ladies as she was saying that: I am proud of my staff".Just be careful with this lady as she might spread lies and talk bad about you to the next referral doctor office.I am glad that I finally could see my eye doctor at different locations."

When you see only five stars it is suspicious. I called them for an appointment after the review and the phone was answered by a not so pleasant person saying please hold"No intoduction ; nothing.Then l was on hold for 10 minutes where l gave up....Now to tell you that it was a rainy day; Monday tenish.. you got the picture.Beware of the " All star reviews ""

Best Eye Doctor ever. Very efficient and always on time. Very friendly, knowledgeable and professional staff. Very neat and clean office and they follow all covaid protocols. Will recommend Dr Martow to everyone who has a eye issue. He has never rushed me as patient. Very helpful. God Bless him and his team.

Like many have said he is a great Doctor at doing what you need him to do - solve your eye issues. Yes he’s not there like your family doctor to talk about your personal issues or day to day issues. He’s extremely busy and i personally don’t like how he is too busy and tends to double book some appointments. I’ve been seeing him for over a decade and have no personal issues with him. He is brief and to the point, I consider that efficiency when there are so many people to see. I would give him 5 stars if the appointments I made were more punctual. Sometimes I wait over an hour after my scheduled appointment time but I guess that’s the nature of seeing specialists and a doctor who is good at what he does.Once before I found a Pediatrician for our child who was always available and had appointments to see us pretty much whenever we asked. We quickly found out why this was the case. The Pediatrician gave our child the wrong prescriptions, unnecessary needles and medications. We quickly found another doctor obviously. The new doctor we found for our child was very good and much the same had long wait times.I understand and appreciate how we all wish we had instant access to the best doctors all the time but this will never happen with our free healthcare system unfortunately.I’m just appreciative of being able to find a great doctor like Dr. Martow so close to home.Some people in remote locations drive 1-1/2 hours each way to see such specialists.I also don’t understand how some people can complain about a busy receptionist when it’s the rating for the doctor.
