Very tasty spicy veggie burger. I took a star away because the burgers took 30 minutes to come out (the store wasn’t busy, maybe 2 other small tables occupied) and the fries were nothing special.

So glad that there's now a decent gourmet burger place that we can go to.We used to get our burger cravings with another known burger chain in the same area (well known for their secret menu" and religious connotation) but lately we're not happy with the quality of their burgers anymore.Came during lunch time and place was pretty quiet. The lone staff (who was also the Manager/Cashier/Cook) was very nice

We used to order from this place 2-3 months ago when the burgers were fantastic. The patty was not smashed and the burgers had fresh veggies as well (lettuce, tomatoes, onion). Now the burgers are disappointing, just a smashed patty with pickles.Please see pictures below. The first picture is the burger now ( just a patty, cheese , pickles and a bun). The last two pictures are how the burgers were before ( with lettuce, tomatoes, onion).I would not recommend this place.

I got the cheese smash. It's good, hits the spot. They use processed cheese which sometimes all I want is that oouey gooey melty cheese... and when I'm in the mood for that, nothing in the world tastes better lol. Would come here again. Rating a 3.75 because the fries are good but I've had better. The sauces are good would recommend to friends to try this place out! The onion rings are delish!

We settled on Matt's after wandering for a bit, and we were not disappointed. My wife and I shared an order of fries and we each got a burger. My wife got a smash burger and I got a bacon cheese smash. Both had the perfect toppings and were super gratifying. The only issue I had was that the bacon on my burger was too under done for me, so it was chewy and not as tasty as it could be, but it didn't ruin my night. It was a great meal in a cool little joint, and we will frequent it again when in the area. Enjoy!

A cool little smash burger place just off Adelaide. Reasonable menu prices for Toronto and good classic burgers and fries.Their poutine was also quite satisfying would definitely come back here for another lunch or dinner!

Tasty, fresh, good quality burgers. We had the combo (smash burger, fries, drink and sauce) for $12.50 each and the price to performance ratio was fantastic. The food was hot, the fries fresh and the place was clean. Would recommend.

Thus was an interesting experience. Coming to Toronto I did not want to eat at any big chain restaurants. I found Matt's Burger Lab and decided to try it out. This location is in the basement, with stairs going down, if you have mobility issues. I ordered the pineapple smash burger, fries and a vanilla milkshake. The food tasted really good however the pineapple on the burger was sizzling hot (and slightly spicy). I am sure that I burned the top of my mouth with that pineapple.The fries tasted like they were fresh cut and it's hard to mess up a vanilla milkshake (and they did not mean it up).My only gripe, I thought it was fairly expensive, $27 + tip = $30 for burger, fries and a milkshake.Next time I come to Toronto with my family you just might catch us at Matt's Burger Lab.
