Goderich Sunset Golf Club

This summer I decided to take some golf lessons so I could enjoy it as a hobby with my husband and son. Ashley met me where I was at, with encouragement and support and gave me simple, practical tools I could use so that I felt successful on the course.As well, I can’t say enough about sunsets junior program. My son spent countless hours at the course this summer and was treated like family by the Gravett’s and their staff.

Played it for my first time.Memorable holes for me...Hole 1 for its immediate very close road danger.Hole 5 is a righty natural drive able par 4. It's low altitude tee box, forcing your eye and shot shape to hit in fact back uphill, into a sharp left to right sweeping hole. Done correctly, you launch high over very big trees to cut the distance of your second shot down to that of a chip or even a putt.Holes 6 and 7 are especially memorable to me because I've never played back to back par 3s that have the exact same 210 yard distance, same hole shape and tree line too. Imagine my surprise on the tee box of 7 realizing I get a sort of do over from hole 6.Hole 18 is the kind of interesting too, and challenging as a finishing hole. It over rewards players who hit a good tee shot and if not, your approach will most always be blind to not only the pin but also the entire green, and, with the ditch up front you must fly it to the green you can't even see. No freebees.I found the general layout of the course very favorable to my style, overall too and in particular I felt the greens were rolling and designed to offset any favor I think I had because they were hard. One hole has a 3 tier green with each tier seemingly at least 12 inches above the last... it's insane.Some exceptionally nice paved cart path here and there to drive too... being a car guy, some of the turns and elevation changes are amazing for such a out of the way course. I would never ever walk this course EVER and never regret it EVER.

Had an amazing day here visiting from out of town. Course was fun, challenging and in amazing condition! Staff were wonderful. Definitely coming back!

We were camping and lucked out having this course beside us.I am new to golfing and absolutely loved the par thee...so great to work on my shots...I didn't lose a ball!Family owned/operated and it shows how much they care. Ashley was a great help to my husband picking out the right new shoes.The full course looked lovely and we were excited to try it as our last game. Unfortunately our truck had issues so we called to cancel and they were very gracious about it. Our goal next time we are this way is to play for sure!

We played the par 3 with kids and had a great time here. The value was great as the par 3 was pretty well maintained and the holes were long enough to challenge the kids

Knocked out 2 buckets of balls. Then played 9 on the boomer course. 1st time playing in a couple years and didnt embarrass myself. Great little course

It was a nice course but it was slow play ahead of me.

We went on a rainy day and the course was not busy at all. We were told at the turn that we were too slow and needed to be quicker. Most of our group were inexperienced golfers so we played best ball. Won't golf here again and don't recommend it if you aren't experienced enough to meet their standards.

This is a nice course, greens are well kept. A little expensive for the length of the course, but they're keeping up with the going rates, which is unfair to the golfer to have make up the difference of their losses.
